    Look at this GT2

    If it looks like a GT2...



    Has ceramic brakes...



    Has the front spoiler...



    Then it MUST be a GT2... but wait, what's this?


    An Automatic transmission? Lame. Why did Porsche have to do this for the 996tt...why?

    I have seen pics of that car before. I think someone who used to be on funcars owns/owned it.

    Nothing like a tip GT2 look TT. That's exactly what I'm going to get next.

    First: I don't see any GT2 on these pictures???!
    Second: Errare Humanum Est.

    To be honest: I actually don't have any problem with somebody playing around with optics, a C4S for example is a 996 Turbo "fake" (original comment about the C4S from UK based TOP GEAR TV magazine) built by Porsche.
    But if somebody puts the GT2 badge on a 996 Turbo Tip (or is it even a C4S???), I get a strange feeling.
    True Porsche Lovers don't need this crap.
    Reminds me of the various 996 C2/C4 Aerokit owners who put a GT3 badge on their cars. Sad.

    in my opinion, it is a turbo, because the air exits from the aircoolers behind the rear wheels are open.
    if you look at the c4s, it's just fake and closed...

    whatever this car is crap, word up...also combination of colors, disgusting. safety belts in yellow on beige leather, i can not believe it, that's an impudence...

    Picture Dsc00025 depicts the boost gauge....assume that settles it as a Turbo. Although, even then, it does show 0.0 bar..and i suppose someone might hack the Computer.....

    I don't think this is what you intended with your comment, but I wanted to point this out to you. I have a very good friend who owns a 964 Targa tip. He owns this car b/c he lost the use of his legs several years ago in a motorcycle racing accident. He would not be able to own/drive a porsche if they didn't offer an automatic. Would you prefer to deny him the same experience that all of us enjoy?

    I know two guys who own a 996 Turbo Tip and they know how to drive like hell.
    Reason for No.1 why he got a Tip: his wife can drive automatic only and she wants to drive this car from time to time too.
    Reason for No.2 why he got a Tip: he's a business man and travels a lot through large german cities and it is much more relaxing driving a Tip in a city (stop'n go) than a manual.
    The second guy also has a 964 RS for racing...

    I wouldn't say that a Tip on a Porsche is a shame (EVERYBODY should enjoy these fine cars) but I don't see why somebody would camouflage his 996 Turbo Tip as a GT2. That is a disgrace and shameful (or better said: this guy would earn himself a lot of laughs on the track over here... ).

    If I had to make a Porsche buying decision right now, I'd have only two choices: 996 GT3 RS or 996 GT2.

    that certainly is NOT one. interesting how many cars are made to look like gt2's.

    on Tips: i owned 2. they are actually quite fast. and you can just stomp on them at red lights. immature, but fun

    i actually quite like the interior / exterior colour combo. it doesn't look so hot in the pics (the interior looks a bit lighter than it really is (i think)) ... the common s.y / blk combo(what i have now); is just a little too common.

    i think i would change the carpet colour, keep the turbo badge, make the seat back s.y. - and then call it perfection!
