Grant:nberry:The usually Porsche evolution in design. But I suspect the black exterior hides many subtle changes.
Knowing what the 991.1GT3 was like with 472hp, I am salivating over the prospect of close to 500hp and hopefully less weight. Should be a blast to drive.
I don't see any reason that .2 would be any lighter (something you know about this?). Aside from a little extra power, I think the main benefit will be the additional torque that will be stronger everywhere and peak a little sooner on the tach - should be a great match to the 6spd manual
I do not have independent information regarding weight. But I have to believe they take what they learned from the RS and R and try to incorporate similar features reducing weight. Obviously, not all but some. A new engine and a tweaked PDK-S isn't enough.
FWIW, the more I study the pictures the better this car looks. I believe but not sure that the wing has a distinct curve which enhances the road presence of the car.

I already made all the foolish financial moves to acquire the cash. Now I just need Porsche to price it right and my dealer to give an allocation :)

What's up with the Black brake calipers? Is it possible these are a new design (I would think plenty of red and yellow calipers on the shelf if they were not changing). Let's hope for open architecture where you can change pads while caliper still mounted and new piston pucks that don't disintegrate with heat...

Wishful thinking I think Grant. Looks like PCCB with black tape over the Porsche logo. Like teh missing Porsche badges I think this is just low camo stuff...

MikeM1982:485hp 4.0 and wing delete option is mentioned recently on rennlist. Anyone heard similar? I would have figured 500hp One of the 918 owners there stated 510hp a few weeks ago. Who knows??

This facelift follows the same pattern we have seen on all Porsches since the 996 .
Start with a rather busy look, and just clean it up for the facelift .
For the .1 no one will mined the non perfect design as it is a new car . And so they can make it look as it should of from the start on the .2 and create a ' woaw' factor .
After 4 years, everyone gets used to both looks, the .2 looking also old as the replacement car has arrived , and by then it makes no more difference between a .1 and .2
I like the new design better , as I liked the .2 997 better then the .1
I would love to have this car in manual , but could not trade my current RS for it .
I bet on 495 HP

KresoF1:Nick,
My very wise advice is to order 991.2 GT3. I will for sure get one after recent test drives of few mid engine sportscars.
Kreso, that is my plan. According to my dealership, I will be able to spec it (allocation) either September or Oct. (if not sooner) next year. If afterward they introduce the .2RS I'll just turn in the .2GT3.
