It's their classic raise the HP a little, usually about 20, every few years. Making the composite brakes standard is a debatable improvement given the mixed reviews and very high cost of parts. As ben said, the GT 2 hasn't sold well in the $180s, making it a $200k car isn't going to help. There was a 2002 GT2 with 30 miles in Autoweek recently with a $165k asking price...

well,
1] the wheels will be lighter but making them gt3 wheels is stupid since it brings the cars together marketing wise
2] carbon mirrors and tail like RS presumably can be retro'd to existing gt2's? which save some weight
3] i bet suspension tweaks are the "racing setup" i've been hearing about
4] 25K for a ruf 550 HP package is probably a better deal than paying retail for a new one
5] altho' with 03's selling for 170, the 04's will prbably start at 175-180, 15-10 below window
i dont see enough to trade my '02 for it. does anyone else?

Watt,
It appears from the wording of the press release that the mirror housings and front air dam slats are only "carbon look", not actual carbon fiber.

Last Monday I was in Zuffenhausen and I had noticed a GT2 with that dark carbon tail. It was at the entrance of the factory. Without knowing it I've seen the newest GT2. I've also seen 2 TT cabrios.

Hey Pierre,
If you really wanna know the details : I use a Leica camera and when your film is full you first have to press a button and then rewind it manually. Of course I was overexited by seeing all those Porsches
and I forgot the button, so I couldn't open the camera to place a new film. Nevertheless, the official pics are much better than the ones that I could have taken. Everytime I'm in Zuffenhausen I'm too nervous and something goes wrong.
I hope to go back next month or later to visit the factory. Interested ?

Beautiful pics...but i prefer the Turbo wheels....this GT3 wheels looks smaller than 18"...
The carbon fiber wing and mirrors looks good on a yellow car with black rims, with black leather and carbon package.....

I don't think a company like Porsche, on their top of the line car (that is until the GT1 comes out) would fake the carbon fiber.

Then how do you account for the press release that says the door mirrors and front slats are in "carbon look"? There would be no need to make a distinction between the real carbon rear wing and the cosmetic mirrors, etc. if they were all carbon fiber.

Well, what would be "carbon look" then? A photo-print foil that is applied to the mirrors like a cheap tuning? If you order the carbon interior package, it's real carbon fiber as well. Just it doesn't serve any purpose (i.e. make the car lighter) other than an aesthetic one, that's why it's called carbon look. So maybe for the mirrors it's the same: just a thin layer of (real) carbon fibre applied to the mirror housings, but not the whole part made out of carbon.
