I don’t know all the changes, but they made the seat height lower and moved the rear view mirror so it doesn’t block the driver’s view as much and are using the stronger Corolla GR engine (more power, torque and stronger intervals). Stronger suspension mounting too.

Gnil:Pentium, Rossi, what are your complaints about the car after owning it for a long period now ?
To me, this is still the most interesting fun car for the city and its surroundings, with brief winter mountain escapes.. Other one would be the Alpine.
Not many complaints, absolutely love it. Seats may be too high (I don't really care) and mirror too low (got a mirror raiser). Really fun to drive and you won't get such cars for very much longer. Nevertheless I might go for the facelift because of the following reasons:

Biggest complain for me was the forward visibility and driving position. Both fixed now. The new dashboard it’s not very stylish but highly functional and gets the visibility issue fixed (they also changed the position of the center mirror to help with that). Seats are 25mm lower - another plus.
Front bumper is split now in three pieces, one per each corner and a middle part. That helps a lot if you track the car (especially on gravel or bad roads) and you clip the bumper at one of the corners. It will be cheaper to replace just one of the smaller corner parts.
They increased the cooling capacity. That was important. Even added an extra radiator. In the passenger front corner. Like in a 911 :) Left front corner is for the automatic gearbox cooler.
They made the pistons from a stronger alloy. Important.
Aerodynamics: on front they diverted the airflow from the brakes. Important. In the rear they added a slot to the rear deflector so air can escape & helps exhaust cooling. They moved the third brake light from the rear spoiler to help tuning (it’s easier now to replace your rear spoiler with something else).
They increased the rigidity of the chassis by using more glue and more welding points. Important. They also stiffen the suspension a bit.
Seriously they fixed every little thing. Well… rear wiper still missing but it’s not a big deal (the rear window gets dirty fast and you can’t see anything out of it). And I hope the parking sensors front&rear are standard now because you couldn’t see a thing while parking. But that’s it.
Seriously I do not remember a car brand listening so close to their drivers.

I forgot. They added more power (20hp). More torque. Better airflow for the turbo.
Added a brand new auto gear box. 8 speed w torque converter. Designed to be light and fast.
Front and rear Torsen slip differentials become standard. Actually they removed the posh version of the car. All cars are now in circuit pack configuration. One version for all cars.
And the part they I like the most: they followed their rally pilot’s instructions and they made the downshifts push-lever-forward

Make no mistake: the car is a blast to drive. It’s a car you can really have fun with. It’s a driver’s car. And it’s really cheap to own and race. And if the road conditions are bad or the weather is bad, it’s a little pocket rocket. Few cars have GR Yaris’ pace in such conditions.

I think it is a proper fun car for short distances and a great daily driver for that kind of money. I would get it with the new automatic gearbox though only but that is me.

I don‘t think that comes as standard, seems to be an extra for the Japanese market as far as I know.
