    New Cayman Article in Road & Track

    There are additional pictures in the hard-copy magazine. One of the pictures shows the space above the fog lights in the grill covered with a solid piece of what appears to be black plastic. This is something I hadn't seen before. Also, the article mentions a glass screen that separates the cockpit from the luggage area which also acts as a shield from engine noise. Also something I haven't seen or heard about (and I'm not sure I want to shield the sweet sound of the engine)

    Read it through and through. Ya, I don't know what that black plate is above the fog light.....just noticed it on the yellow pictures that are floating around. Don't know if I like it or not....why not make it part of the grill?

    Don't know what to say about the glass screen.....I really wouldn't like it if indeed it is for real. Funny, none of the pictures Road & Track has shows this "shield".....makes you wonder, they do sound convincing in the article. Hopefully it all clears up soon.

    I think they got the glass/plexiglas partition wrong. I can't see how that can be made to work based on the photos we've seen, but then again....

    Nope, I think it's for real...but you have to pay $270 according to the order guide. I think it will be a real useful option to get.

    Any specific details? Dealer didn't know anything. Probably plexiglass but where does it specifically fit? Is it permanent or detachable (ala Boxster windstop)?

    I just got it off the order guide, so nope, no details. I would imagine it would be like the boxster one.
