    Test of the Challenge Stradale

    German car magazine "auto motor und sport" tested the Challenge Stradale:

    Weight: 1386 kg
    0-100 km/h: 4.4 sec
    0-200 km/h: 15.5 sec
    top speed: 300 km/h

    DISAPPOINTING !

    Okay, ams has never been too Ferrari friendly (in contrast to Porsche and Mercedes Benz), but the time to 200 km/h is a whole 1.6 sec more than the official figures.

    i wouldn't say this... eckhard eybl wrote very emotional and praising features about the challenge stradale (and other ferrari models).

    and the AMS measurements are absolutely reliable IMO.

    indeed disappointing... maybe it was too hot during testing?

    disappointing as well is the weight: 1,386 kg -- having the official ferrari weight in mind (1,290 kg)


    but the interior styling is awesome!!

    You're right. With not too Ferrari friendly I thought of the ams measurements concerning Ferrari. As fas as I can remember, nearly every Ferrari missed the official figures, while nearly every Porsche was quicker than the factory data.

    I also think so. But it is still too slow for a car that expensive. Brings me back to my strong believe, that a new Modena needs more power and more torque.

    That makes the GT3 on par with the Stradale.
    And my friend who is a race driver told me that it is quicker round a track too. Rohrl also said that, but you'd expect him to sayd that!
    But I read an article on this month's new EVO which says that the Stradale is way faster than the GT3.
    Let's wait for next week's Autocar, it will feature an road test of GT3 vs 360 vs Gallardo. Can't wait!

    Hi Guys,

    most of us are right!

    For example AMS uses just Super instead of Optimax in the Ferraris and the other way round for the Porschs.

    hi floren,

    is optimax/super plus recommended for the Challenge Stradale? I always thought it was 95 octane super?

    So I outrun the Stradale in my family limousine, including baby stroller, diapers, baby, wife and little daughter?

    To be serious: this test shows pretty well why more power is needed.
    No doubt, on the track and on nice little country roads, my E55 stands no chance against the Stradale. But is it really enough?
    Right now I think that the GT3 RS is the better buy because you get more for the money and it is pretty easy to modify the GT3 RS further for track use.

    But I agree that for the heart (and not for the brain), the Stradale is the right decision.

    Yeah, as i heard, OPTIMAX, or better V-Power is recommended for the Stradale, as was SuperPlus or better OPTIMAX for the standard 360.
    It is just due to certain compression ratios what kind of petrol is the most useful.
