There is still some dealer prep to do and I am having the lower body molding painted body color Monday. I should have it Tuesday I guess.

18" turbo wheels?????
Yes, sorry. 
At least I didn't get those Alpina inspired base wheels. 
For style, I really prefer the 19" Cayenne design wheel but I was concerned that the 19" and 20" wheels don't leave enough rubber between the wheel and rocky trails. I will be using the Scorpion A/T if the dealer can find a set. I have noticed that Pirelli has Scorpion A/T in Porsche "N0" spec for 17" and 18" wheels. I guess the 17" is in preparation for the 6 cylinder Cayenne.

Maybe today? 
Painting the lower body side moldings has turned out to be a major problem. When Porsche first released photos of the Cayenne I was really taken aback with the look of the S and the blacked out lower section. The visual effect was to make the car lower to the ground than it really was. And the angle the photo was taken from blended in a shadow that made it seem even lower. What an introductory photo! I guess Porsche now agrees because you can no longer find the photo below on the Cayenne website. I suspect there are some general perceptual differences between Europe and the US over how an SUV should look. To me this effect was reminicent of the modified Honda street racers, only larger. A boy racer on steroids look.
So, right away I arranged with the dealer to get my vehicle with body colored lower moldings, like the Turbo, and if that was not a factory option, the dealer would have it painted.
Now it turns out the moldings on the S are made with a high silicone plastic and the paint shop was convinced paint would not stick reliably. So, for now I am taking the car in it's standard two tone scheme. The paint shop has purchased some of the plastic molding and is experimenting with a new primer that they think may work but they want some time to test it. There is also the option of buying Turbo parts, which are made of a different material but should fit, except for the rear at the exhaust tips.

My Cayenne S is on delivery April '04 becouse i whant to change my G.Cherokee that in April has 3 Years...
I hate the black part of the lower body side and i whant this painted..but also my dealer said is difficult to paint and for now is not a factory option(maybe in future)
For this reason i go to a BLACK Cayenne S.....no more problem to paint lower moldings..
Now my problem is that i whant the Sport Techno 20" wheels painted in black...but this is another story....

My dealer told me, only last Saturday, that all the Cayenne wheels are now available in body color. The latest order guide I have does show the 19" Cayenne Design wheel available in body color. I don't think that was available previously.
So, maybe you can get the factory to paint them for you. It would be better than an aftermarket paint job later.

Factory does aftermarket too, no kidding.
After finishing production, the car WITHOUT painted wheels goes to the Exclusive department and gets the wheels painted.
Get a good local paint shop who know their job and avoid removing the tires from the rims if possible (especially 18'' and 19'' tires!)

Yes, yes! Excellent time!
Actually production is ahead of schedule. Ahead by about two weeks at the time mine was built. Increased productivity is no doubt due to the lingering eurphoria over getting a 38 hour workweek.
Maybe if they moved to a 30 hour workweek you could have your car next month.
