    997S Coupe vs Cab - Opinions please!

    Putting aside -20mm option which I don't believe is available on the Cab, can anyone who has driven both the 997S Coupe and Cab comment on any noticeable differences in performance/handling?

    The cab with the top down has a lower center of gravity therefore handles BETTER than the coupe.

    Coupe has greater torsional rigidity (less flex) than a cab

    Truddle's right. The difference in body flex is there IMHO. I miss the cabrio, but I'm loving the stiffness in the turns!

    I have only had cabs for the past 30 years, mercedes sl, porsche993 cab and targa, Beemers, and now my new 997. I have had a few coupes in those years, jags, mercedes, cadillac, but nothing nothing nothing nothing is better than roof down, and 50 degrees with heated seats.

    Have had 997S coupe and now 997S cab.
    Absolutely love both of them but probably prefer cab.
    - stiffness is only slightly less.
    - soft top roof watertight and superb when up. It is triple layered.
    - although the coupe does look better as a shape overall, when the roof is down on cab and you have the wind deflector covering the rear seats etc that look a million dollars.

    An opionion from someone who's had BOTH. Right on about the wind deflector

    So many people have been surprised that my 997 S cab is a 4 seater. With the deflector in place it hides the rear seats and makes the car look like a 2 seat roadster! The cab. has so many different looks, it's like a few cars in one. I love the roof lines of the coupe better then the cab.'s when the top is up but when the top is down the cab looks so much cooler then the coupe.

    As for handling I don't notice any less rigidity from my 996 Turbo. If I was on a track- maybe.

    I won't go back to a coupe now after having experienced a Porsche convertible. The way a Porsche convertible feels vs the coupe when you're carving up a country road on a nice day is hard to explain in words.
