Cups are great when warm. I was talking with a Porsche service guy about the lack of "winter" tires for the GT4. For winter I mean sport tires like PZero (no real M+S). My winter rides on the Spanish mountain roads with temperatures of 10-12 degrees are not suited for the Cups.

Gnil:Some great photos . You caught that lamb in the perfect moment
So all these Cup cars had to give way when you arrived Pretty impressive line up !
Yeah that shot was perfectly timed. Give way? There was never a moment when he was behind anyone else, the white GT3RS had the closest chance but still couldn't catch up
Thanks for the kind words As to the car, the GT4 seem pretty much on par with the 997.1 RS at Anneau. We did lap after lap next to each other and the driver of that car was very experienced.
@RC, yes I believe the cold asphalt was the culprit for many minor incidents. A lot of drivers lost control, spun or even drove off the track. Far more than what is "normal" for such an event.
@Gnil, the Lambo came out great
@Josef, on the Thursday there was an incident between two cars (I believe one of them a cup). Nothing bad. On the Friday they closed the track 3-4 times to tow cars off and I believe one occasion was a cup. These guys were not really keeping to the rules from the organizer and IMHO acted too risky for a track day. Why did you ask about a crash? Did you hear anything?

Listen, I had traction issues with my PZero road tires at around 12°C (yesterday in Bavaria) and my car has AWD, so... Tire temperatures around 30°C or lower, not exactly OK for them. I need at least 50°C for them to be really sticky. Cup tires need even higher temps, I think 60°C upwards are great...(Trofeo loves around 70°C and I think the Cup 2 is between 60 and 70...not really sure). They are OK up to 50°C or so but under...not so much. Cold and rain? Deadly.

Clubsports on Michelin rain race tires on my track this weekend, in the wet.
Just breaking in the car.
Granted we have banked left handers so the left turn Gs will be a lot higher.
The Clubsport is sooooooooooooooooooooooo nice in handling.
While tweaking the handling, we change ONE tire's pressure by 2 psi, I felt the difference right away.

Humm, not bad . But the RT record of 1.65 is still holding

Oh boy...this will end up with someone trashing a car into a wall on purpose
