F430 high speed driving (update)
hello!
some time ago i reported here on rennteam about my F430 feeling kind of unstable at the front end while driving >270 km/h.
well, since most F430 drivers did not share my impression... and the autobahn was free on saturday evening, i gave it another try. i don't know why. maybe it was because i had something in my luggage compartment, maybe it was the slightly lowered tire pressure (but not below the recommended pressure for my P zero rosso), or maybe the recent repair of my E-diff (the "N problem")...
...but the driving was awesome. car was planted to the ground -- even during side winds. acceleration was easy as pie. i reached up to 317/318 km/h on the speedo without even getting wet palms.
i briefly observed my personal sport chrono (a.k.a. wristwatch;) ) -- from (speedo indicated) 200 in 5th gear to 300 km/h in 6th it took way under 20 sec.
acceleration is slowing a little bit from 305 km/on and when driving around 315 km/h the rev counter has reached 8,500. so either the F430's speedo is VERY accurate without the usual overstating -- or it's very difficult for my car to reach the official 315 km/h.
but anyway, this car is a blast.
