Very nice, RC.
Congrats to your wife!
Were you tempted to reject it because of the missing stitching?
Thanks.
Yes, I was tempted but my dealer and Porsche found a solution VERY VERY fast (I didn't even have time to think...
). For the sake of a good relationship to my dealer (I make it hard enough for him because of Rennteam.com, he never tells me anything because he knows he could be in trouble), I agreed to the solution. It gets me the red stitching in two or three months and I keep a good relationship to my dealer and Porsche.
BTW: I'm happy I didn't refuse to accept the car. The engine feels VERY powerful, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Overall, I like the Boxster S a lot, it is really a fun toy for those moments when you want something fast for turns and twists. Not really the perfect Autobahn car but who cares? For the city, for nice country roads and some fun in the sun, the Boxster S is just perfect. I love this car and I'm sure I'm going to use it pretty often (I hope my wife doesn't read this...
).
Regarding the exhaust/engine sound: it is sometimes a little bit too loud, especially in the higher rev range over 3500-4000 rpm. I had a Boxster (not S) loaner for two days (Cayenne windshield crack caused by a stone, had to be exchanged) and it had a very subtle flat six engine sound. Not the same with the Boxster S, VERY loud and it may be too loud for my wife. I wonder if Porsche changed the engine/exhaust sound a little bit, the test car we had sounded slightly different and less loud.
Regarding the demand for more carbon pictures: as soon as we get some sunshine, I'll post more pictures. The carbon package doesn't really look good on flash pictures taken in a dark garage.
