Andrew, cool down.
I drove in a Carrera GT on the track as a passenger with Jochen Albig (a well known german race car driver and Porsche test pilot), I was allowed to drive a CGT on a parking lot once to be able to tell how good or bad the clutch worked and I even sat in the "Number One" (my Avatar) in Weissach and talked to Mr. Hölscher who was standing next to it. But NO, I do not own a Carrera GT and to be honest, I'm not sure if I would want one. Especially since Ben's horrible accident, I realized that the CGT is a challenge, even in experienced hands. Since I don't do professional racing anymore, I don't have the training to drive such a car at the limit. To make it short: I would probably kill myself in the CGT, I'm the type of guy who has to try the limit. With the lack of PSM (ESP) and a very unforgiving handling with ASR turned off, I would need to concentrate 100% all the time with no margin for an error. This may work on the track and driving alone but otherwise... I wasn't able to move my tuned 543 HP 996 Turbo at the limit, so guess what the ride in a much lighter and more powerful CGT would be alike. This is one reason why I like my 997 Carrera S: I can play with this car like a toy, it is no real challenge for me, even at the limit. Maybe I'm just getting old and chickening out...two kids make a difference.
heh, i was gonna say! i guess youre just beat, you dont want to drive something scarey!? just kidding, i think i understand you... a CGT would be very scarey! i guess people like walter rohl should feel comfortable but for the rest of us i assume it would be quite different
