    PCNA Computer Rejects Options

    The PCNA computer, which had initially accepted while dials and painted rear console, reject them today.

    I'm a SO mad. Ok, the console can be painted after, but who wants black dials?

    Is it not sad that one drops 90K on a car and can't even get the options listed in the order guide.

    Pathetic.

    Has this happened to anyone else?

    not sure about the dials, but the painted rear consol should be std fair - it's been available for ages. I'd ask your dealer to have a call to Porsche to find what's happening. I've heard that sometime those computer thingies can be unreliable - although try telling that to anyone here....

    If your sales person were on the ball he could have told you, eliminating the surprize....
    So says PCNA:
    PAG has placed the following options on production hold for 987 - 997 models, and have deleted them from all June and July MY 2006 vehicle orders. No release date has been given for these options.

    That sucks from those of us buying a convertible.Everyone says that the plasticky black sun visors are more noticeable in the convertible and recommend buying the sun visors in leather (option XMP). That doesn't seem to be a big issue to do, wonder why Porsche is doing it?

    I was discussing this with the dealer yesterday. According to dealer availability of the options depends on the suppliers (understandable) and the vendors that Porsche outsources for some jobs (news to me). The only reason this make sense is that something like the center console in wood, carbon, and especially paint should be easy to make available. After all, the car has to come with a center console! None of the "X" options are available at the moment. I wanted XME and the dealer is checking with PCNA about whether or not this will be available prior to my order being "set in stone" as it were.
