Definitely was a snoozer
Only interesting thing is how fast are the Mercs now with the upgrades this was the closest any team has gotten to the RB in race pace this season. On the flip side the Aston seems to have gone in the other direction, they clearly lost competitiveness now, behind RB, Merc and Ferrari now in performance.

Actually I don't think the Aston lost that much.
Don't judge the car's performance by the rolling roadblock, aka Stroll Jr. Alonso made quite decent progress up the field until he was behind Stroll. He is the PERFECT employee, announcing he isn't gonna pass the boss' son and embarrass him even more. Most telling was the fastest lap time, Alonso was 0.7 clear of Junior.
Ferrari and Aston are close, just different strength and weaknesses.
Mercedes for sure made a great step joining them, it's just one race but they do have the best pair of drivers on grid, unlike other teams with a clear #1 and #2, Hamilton and Russell are 1A and 1B, and these 2 for sure can extract the most from a car from a team's perspective. Ferrari arguably also have 1A and 1B drivers but I am really convinced the team is super cursed.
Poor Norris, slight contact in the beginning and then the whole race is gone. He did lay down the 4th fastest time behind the 2 Red Bulls and Hamilton, and a good 0.7 ahead of Russell who has the 5th fastest time. Russell was quite not comfortable this weekend, the 3rd place finish is such a bonus for him.
Don't even have to look at Verstappen to see how fast that Red Bull is. Just look at Perez's progress up the field.
Horner took a nice dig at Mercedes, he was asked about the progress made by the Mercedes and his reply was Max still won by like 23 seconds. Ouch.

agreed. Neither collision involving Lewee the weekend were his fault, even though certain headlines try to say so. Perez may have saved his job today.
Was that track MB perfect or have they improved? Ferrari is a management debacle.

RB has won EVERY race so far by 20+ seconds except one that was a safety car finish.
At this point we are better off giving Max and Perez they're 1 & 2 championship trophies now and let the rest of the grid actually race it out without them for the rest of the season...
haha correct thread

Saw Lewis complaining about Red Bull's dominance and the fact they can start work on their '24 car sooner than everybody else :
"I think the FIA should probably put a time when everyone is allowed to start developing for the next year's car," Hamilton proposed to Sky F1 "So August 1, that's when everybody can start, so that no one can get an advantage from the next year. Because that sucks."
TeamLH wonders why people accuse him of being a cry baby, well he certainly wasn't calling for FIA interference in teams' development process when Mercedes dominated for 7 years. All the teams are guilty of hypocrisy from time to time but this is too rich. I consider him the greatest talent of his generation, and honestly even see his point, but to suddenly feel this way after he and his team benefited from this longer than any team before it is ridiculous.

watt:Porker:In my opinion, yesterday's podium made their respective second drivers look distinctly average. Good race!
Yes, Lewee and Max were stellar, MB and Aston looked closer, but
my guess is Max was sandbagging.
Yup Max was sandbagging - clear from sprint today - and Stroll ahead of Fred!? Is Fred sandbagging???
Another procession parade, err race for Max. It's not even a risk for Max to pit for fastest lap as the Red Bull pit crew are the best. But boy, Max is getting back at Perez for yesterday by taking away that one last point. Max is the one person that will always hold a grudge and WILL get back at someone.
Behind him, nice lovely action within the separate packs of cars.
The upgraded McLaren for under Norris is working very very well.
If they are going to police track limit at Red Bull Ring, they need to employ more people watching the lines, pretty sure quite a few drivers didn't get caught just because of the work load.
Prediction for next week at Silverstone: Max win by at least 20 seconds, if not a full 40. Heck, he might pit for fastest lap and still have 20+ seconds in hand.
One of the Ferraris will come in 2nd, and say Alonso 3rd.

Nothing cooler than Max pitting to go for fastest lap om lap 70 - coming out just ahead of Chuck----. just the TITZ
great passing today, sad whining by lil lewee, finally had to get spanked by Wolff to shut his mouth, time to retire, spud will think of a defense shortly.
just a fun race!

A bit farcical unfortunately
Will be interesting to see what they do to prevent the same situation in 2024

Short of building a concrete wall with tire barrier closer, or add a sinking gravel trap next to the curb, they can't do anything.
Maybe adding a sausage curb right outside the regular curb.
Worse, they can't even skip the track, as they just signed a new deal to continue racing there and also it's Red Bull's home track, and Max and Red Bull are the current focus on F1.
Seems Chuck, Max and Fred had no infringements in 71 laps, it can be done.
and shocking to see a British news face facts:
Perez/Carlos battle was magnificent, took Checo a long time to figure out the drs better thinking by Carlos
