    Democracy is what the people want, if they want to be wrong, that's the majority so be it. Oligarchy is what is driving EU at the moment and these guys are trapped into corruption and complacency...

    Swiss system is working and surprise, that's one of the most powerful economy on the planet...

    You know very well why the Swiss economy is strong... Also, you cannot compare a country like Switzerland (Bavaria alone has almost 60% more people Smiley) to Germany or any other larger country for that matter.

    This is correct.  While I enjoyed living and working in Switzerland years ago, the population of the country is less than the population of the Chicago metropolitan region, which is the third and almost the fourth largest area in the States.  Plus, Switzerland hasn’t fought unnecessary wars over the past forty years either. The debt crisis here is real and the higher interest rates will soon mean that the United States will be expending more on interest payments annually than any other major expenditure. 
     

    Finally, the United States is a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy as initially stated by the lawyer from California.  That’s a meaningful difference as communist countries tend to portray their form of government as a democracy.
