    Decisions Decisions

Just posted up a new blog on Decisions regarding a potential V12 GT acquisition:

    Re: Decisions Decisions

Very enjoyable article, felt like a conversation being had with a friend over a cup of coffee. I hope my irrational AM bias isn't clouding my views, but it does seem the front runner. Of course the GTC4 is very much loved by everyone who owns one, so I'm tempted to throw my vote into that box.

Sorry for being that guy, but you have a typo on the first paragraph of the GTC4 analysis. 'has' instead of 'was'.

    Got it, thanks.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

I loved my gtc4 lasso, with snows and 4wd, an all year F.  you use the term "technical challenges" for the 365, just enjoy them from a distance! same w Astons, talk about depreciation and non reliability.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

I would to the AML....the oportunity to put the roof off, is a plus IMO kiss

    Re: Decisions Decisions

Sounds like it’s between the F12 and the AML. And to me sounds like you already made up your mind Smiley

I assume you will get the F12. Solid choice. I would get whatever it’s the newest and the most reliable of all. Good luck Smiley

    Re: Decisions Decisions

I had to pleasure to drive quite extensively a F12 , 812 and a Vanquish S (S is important) - only a test-drive with a FF so I cannot fully argue except that it felt way to big for my taste.

Best car hands down is the 812 with the rear axle being far superior to the F12. The F12 is surely a handful to drive compared to the 812 which is much more composed - but if you like to drive the more "scary" car a F12 is hard to beat. The 812 is a better set up and gives much more confidence to floor it earlier than in a F12. The F12 bites - it is nothing for the faint hearted.

The vanquish S with the latest e gear is surely a fantastic proposal. Not only do I like the cockpit much better than a new DBS - the sound of the S is just unbelievable. I was shocked how loud it is. Not Ferrari shriek but a clear AM Sound. It does not go around corners like a Ferrari but price value in the used market is fantastic. I would highly recommend to drive a S just for fun once to compare.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

Go with your heart. I also think your choice is made..

But I would change the F12 for the 812, specially taking into account that this car would be for nice week end trips . F12 does not seem like a keeper to any of it's owners.

For an even more relaxed drive, cheaper, enjoying to open top, maybe the AM would be a nice change.

Appreciate the advice on the Vanquish S.  They really are good value right now and likely to become even better value later this year as AML is sitting on an inventory mountain again.  On the F12, it being a bit of a handful is actually a positive selling point personally.  Im used to fairly raw cars and find them highly engaging to drive.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

My colleague had the Lusso, that was a fantastic car. Loved the looks of it, performed faultlessly as well, was really comfy on long distance.

The 812, aside from the issues we had, I feel is too nervous to be a GT, too quick for the road, and too big to be a sports car. I didn't know when or where to use it. Except on a trip to Italy to visit some vineyards, there and then, it was brilliant.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

Having own both the F12 and the FF, my vote would go to the Lusso, the FF replacement.

Having an extra axle to put down all that power is a great thing.

And I did use the FF year round, with winter tires it is surprisingly good in the snow.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

I always felt the FF and its replacement, the Lusso, remain better options than the new SUV which seems a major compromise across multiple parameters. Unfortunately, the market will support the SUV variant over the superior Lusso. The order book is already proving it true.

    Re: Decisions Decisions

Problem with the FF/Lusso is that it can only do 80% of what a SUV/CUV does, namely carrying people and/or carry stuff.

But by the same token, it will do 80% of what an F12 can do but much more practical.

When I had both in the garage, I take the FF out over the F12 most of the time. In my mind it's a bigger and more comfortable version of the 911 turbo S.

but stunningly gorgeous, but yes too nervous to be useful hammer down on bad two lane which is the basis of my high speed runs.

Can you get the two Labs in the back of the GTC4Lusso?

    Re: Decisions Decisions

2 in the back one on the centre console one in front = 4
