Hype train is very real! angel RB is farther ahead than the rest that it looks by these times (they weren't pushing) but maybe we are going to have a show this weekend if the RB make some mistakes🙏

Top speed is AM's Achilles heel, they will need to resort to some clever unconventional overtaking like in Bahrain in order to pass others again this weekend

Definitely a more interesting grid start than a RB 1+2. Amazing job from Russell to get the Merc up there.

The RB car is so ridiculously far ahead that even starting so far back I think a podium for Max is realistic too.

No one on the grid right now can extract more from a car on a single lap than Russell, one reason he is know as Mr Saturday. Put him in the Red Bull and not even Max can catch him in the same car.

So nice to see 4 different cars in the first 4 slots on the grid. This is what the FIA had wanted when they implemented the sliding scale and budget cap, bunching up the field.

That Aston is seriously fast, arguably it could be the 2nd fastest car behind the Red Bulls, even faster than Ferrari. Well done to the design team. So happy for Alonso. That car is sorted too, looks like there isn't any shortcomings and doesn't need special driving style to go fast, basically fool proof. Alonso is having a great time in the car that's for sure.

I think it's because it's easy to be cool when your car is a second faster per lap than the rest like today in this track and he has an easy cruise to the championship title. He can afford these mishaps and more so he is not stressing.

Actually Alonso got a penalty and dropped out of the podium.

It's not even funny how far ahead those Red Bulls are. Like men playing with boys. They are much more superior as compared to the field than any of the Mercedes winning years.

Even Perez can pull a good 10 seconds clear of Alonso in the next fastest car, the Astons, that's how superior the Red Bulls are. Not even Mercedes last few years could have done that to the Ferraris mid race. Put Stroll in Perez's car and the result will be the same.

Perez was lucky Verdstsappen was having some issues and not actually chasing him down. Had Max not have the drive shaft problem, he would have been asked to move over for Max to win. Lucky him.

Weird that Ferrari dropped down the pecking order, with Mercedes improving and and jumped over them. Perhaps it's just the circuit. But interesting nevertheless.

Russell again showed why Mercedes picked him over any other drivers, he is their future.

Actually Alonso got a penalty and dropped out of the podium.

Its was a clear slam dunk penalty and only an hour after the race do they decide to give the penalty essentially robbing Aston Martin any chance at recovering from the penalty during the race, in 30 laps Alonso could have opened 10 second gap vs Russell and kept the podium.

These stewards should be the ones receiving a penalty, there is no excuse for missing that the 5 second penalty was carried out incorrectly, it was obvious from the camera view that he was touching the rear of the car with the jack, you can't leave that till after the race. But I guess they were too busy putting out a safety car for a car that was clearly off the track.

Honestly, at best the camera angle we saw was inconclusive, too dark to see whether the jack was actually touching the car or not. It may looks like it or it may not be. The wording on the rule was not clear, it only states mechanics cannot work on the car, and the FIA mistakenly advised the stewards that touching the car is deemed to be working on the car as agreed upon by all the teams but it turns out no such agreement was in place.

And so, since it was guessing at best if the jack was touching the car and touching the car isn't considered working on the car, the penalty has to be rescinded.

Aston Martin didn't protest on the timing part, they challenged the wording part of the rule and they come out on top of the FIA.

Alonso got his 100th podium back! Like he said in the interview, he gets to celebrate it twice.

🤦 that does not give a good images, the FIA needs to get their act together... and the stewards need to pay attention and catch these things as they happen, they can't be changing the classifications after the race, even the sponsors get screwed.

Oh boy, if Red Bull think Porsche was asking too much before, wait till they see what Newey will be asking for his new contract.

Red Bull is nothing without Newey. And with them being the dominant team right now, with the least testing time, Newey's ideas and inputs will be that much more valuable.

Red Bull can't afford to lose him, and other teams are itching to hire him. This is going to get very expensive for Red Bull to retain the service of the genius.
