You give me way too much credit, Enmanuel. This forum would be nothing without people like you, Carlos and all the others here.
I just went through hell over the past two years and no, nobody really knows what happened (I know there is a lot of speculation) and what I had to endure mentally, there was nothing normal or usual about it. Crazy story I can only share face to face.

Small update on my M3 CS order:
Yesterday, my dealer called me to tell me that my order needs a few "requirements", set by BMW M GmbH in Darching.
I was a bit shocked since I already have an order confirmation and that infamous BMW order number (which basically means that a production capacity has already been assigned, even if the date isn't known yet).
So my sales guy asks me about my BMW M history, what BMWs I own right now and if I drive on the track and what car I use for that purpose. I replied to those questions in a (this is what the sales guy said) very satisfactory manner and the sales guy said he will get back to me.
I entered full panic mode. My son already fell in love with this car since day one and for me, this is the only daily driver which makes sense for me, the "alternative" I had in mind (GT3 Touring) is certainly not a bad car either but the M3 CS has more interior room, luggage room, it is "just" a BMW and no Porsche (I can drive to work in it) and it also costs over 50k less.
I thought I won't get one, so I started to make anyone I knew with contacts to BMW M crazy by asking them for help (called in a couple of favors).
Shortly after, I wrote an email to my sales guy, telling him that I expected to get a car because of the confirmation and order number and that I am deeply disappointed and that I consider canceling my order.
I wonder since when I became a drama queen... 
Well, my sales guy called me back, telling me that he apologizes for the misunderstanding but M GmbH didn't contact them because they assign the cars (the dealer decides who he sells the assigned production capacity to). It seems that my sales guy wasn't happy with the production slot he got because he knew that I want the car as early as possible, so he tried to get an earlier production slot. To get assigned an earlier production slot, BMW M GmbH wanted more information about the customer. Nothing dramatic, nothing special, just the usual business. BMW M GmbH wants to make sure that the early cars go to enthusiasts, not to flippers.
I interpreted it completely wrong and thought that this is about assigning me a car or not and of course I got angry after getting an order confirmation and order number. Stupid me. 
So bottom line is: I made everyone crazy in the process and kind of made myself look like an ass and drama queen. Ouch.
Oh...in the process, some very interesting new information came to light: BMW will build the same amount of M3 CS as they did with the M4 CS: 1000 cars. Ouchie again.

Get one. The M5 CS is amazing. There are cars out there with little mileage below MSRP.
This car is a monster and it is fun to drive.

Alpina is the more comfortable side of BMW... 
Stick to your M5 CS plans if you want one...
There is also a strong rumor there is going to be a station wagon of the new M5 hybrid (748 hp).
Or get a smaller M3 Touring, tune it to 700 hp (reliable) and be happy but I guess this car is a bit too small for you?

The B5 isn't for me, but it's an amazingly executed and lovely product. Did 500km in it yesterday, feels shot through with a honey coated quality, by lack of a better expression. Feels right at home on the autobahn.

Comes to court in two weeks, for an obligatory (in Swiss procedure) reconciliatory attempt, before the case gets going in earnest. I hope something comes out of it because it really drags on now.

Why? There’s dozens of potential clients behind every disgruntled one. Plus, companies don’t want to have a precedent set that will impact future outcomes. They can drag the litigation out long enough to cause fatigue within the plaintiff.

My experience with Porsche in the past has been quite positive. Up to a point when I got to meet the production quality boss from Weissach to explain the problem to him personally. He wasn't amused (about me, not the problem). 
Still, Porsche tried hard, always, to make me happy. Heard the same about other customers. Of course the expectations need to be reasonable, you can't expect them to give you a new car if you already drove 30k km in it. 
I agree though, when it gets too complicated for certain companies, they prefer to get rid of you as a customer.

The saga continues...
It seems I wasn't in panic mode without a reason:
You guys remember that my dealer called me over two weeks ago to ask a few details about my M history, what BMWs I drive right now and so on... I was surprised to hear that because I never heard from any other M3 CS customer that these were requirements to get a car. So far, so good.
On March 1st, I wrote a mail to my sales guy, asking him for an update because two weeks had passed and I heard nothing from him.
He didn't reply.
Yesterday, I mailed him again and again...nothing.
I was pissed, so I called in a favor and had someone check on my order status in the BMW ordering system. BMW Germany unfortunately doesn't offer this anymore through their MyBMW web services, they stopped this over two years ago.
Well...I found out that my car is status 111 (scheduled for production, planned for production) in November. 
So yes, my sales guy was right...I am getting a car 100%. Unfortunately he "forgot" to mention when.
Production in November means delivery in December. Winter time over here. 
I get it, the sales guy is trying to fix the problem and probably made an inquiry at M GmbH but why can't he be honest with me?
I am a reasonable person, I don't like it when he keeps the truth from me.
So now I know why he isn't mailing me back, he is probably hoping for news from M GmbH but this really sucks because maybe I could have called another favor in and "help" him.
Right now I am really torn about what to do. My son says it doesn't matter, we get a car and this is the most important thing but I am really pissed because of the lack of communication and honesty.
My contact I asked the favor in with just told me that there could be another problem...the color of my car. He checked a few other orders with Sapphire black cars and all of them were scheduled for production after September. Weird. They weren't many though, so he isn't completely sure and it would be unusual.
Maybe it is good news that I haven't heard back from my sales guy but not replying to two mails (actually three now because I told him today that I know about the order status of my car 
) feels very rude to me. I don't get it.
Any thoughts? Yes...I know...first world problems.
