crayphile:I am going for Frozen White and ceramics if I am given an allocation. Still a bit shocked by the price - more than a Carrera S.
@RC do you have a photo of the matt gold calipers - do the match the colour of the alloys?
Take a look...Sorry, this is the best I can do.
I am somehow interested in Frozen Solid White Metallic myself but the color isn't in the configurator yet. My dealer will check on availability and I will know soon. Also how much it costs in Germany.
Right now I have a preliminary delivery date of June but the BMW order number (available in two weeks tops) will give me a more precise production date. I have a rushed order, number one at my dealer (simply because I told my dealer a month ago that I want the car, there was nobody else ). The dealer told me that they had two possible M5 CS allocations when the M5 CS was available and they sold...ONE. Only the owner of the dealership chain got one for himself.
Right now, demand is minimal for the car, he told me, especially because many have to digest the high price tag. Once the car will be tested (track, straight line), this will change in his opinion. Also because there is no real alternative in this class, Mercedes will ask a lot of money for their new C63 AMG Performance and this car weights 300(!) kg more than the M3 CS.

Thanks - so a different colour to the alloys which is annoying. BMW are also pushing dealers fro orders in the UK - I guess so they can plan production. Zero chance of a discount here.
Yes, different color...this is why I am going with the optional red caliper for the ceramic brake.
However: The color difference isn't as big as in the pic, the wheels are bronze (you can see them in some YouTube videos I think) and I do not think that there is much difference in the color but yes, there is some.

Update regarding the paints Frozen Solid White Met. and Signal Green: Both can be ordered already, even if they are not in the configurator. Price in Germany is 4900 EUR (incl. 19% VAT).
Only problem is: Special colors like these two can delay the delivery date by 8 weeks.
I am already 99% sure I am going to stick with the sapphire black car. I need a daily driver and the carbon "stripes" in the front hood are just too much for a daily driver. A matte black would have been preferrable for me but it is how it is...

My dealer talked to BMW about right hand cars and England (I asked if it would be possible to buy a right hand car at a German dealer and export it to the UK). BMW said that the UK gets as many cars as they order (within certain limits of course) because the production is not limited. The faster people order, the bigger the chance that they get a car. BMW apparently told my dealer that right now, they don't see a problem why a customer shouldn't be able to order and get a car.
Some countries have different issues with orders though since we all know well that in the US for example, some dealers are asking for a mark-up. I checked with a US car forum and one post suggested that various dealers are asking for a 20k(!) USD markup for the new M3 CS: Crazy.

Gnil:You can easily wrap the black carbon stripes in a color to match the rest of the car.
Not easy with the Frozen Solid White Met., already talked to a wrapping company here, also they would need to wrap the whole front hood, not just the "stripes". The stripes are not stripes but visible carbon and there is a depth difference in the front hood. Too much of a hassle...and additional cost. On top of the 4900 EUR.
I had my limit set at 150k, now it is slightly over (152k after discount, 160k before) and I want to leave it that way. I also need winter wheels (another 4k, maybe more, dealer has no details yet), too much for a daily driver.
Initially, I was thinking about getting the car without carbon brakes but I talked to two M cars "specialists" and both told me to go for the ceramic brake, otherwise I would regret it.

For those who think the M3 CS is too expensive:
BMW has raised prices on January 25th 2023.
I configured a BMW M3 Competition xDrive the same way I configured my M3 CS.
I ended up with 130k EUR.
My M3 CS costs 160k EUR.
So I basically pay 30k more for the CS and the changes.
Not really bad for 40 hp more, 20 kg less weight, carbon hood, titanium exhaust system, CLS rims (lighter) in bronze, improved aerodynamics (45% less drag in the front, 25% more downforce in the rear), improved cooling, new and stiffer engine and gearbox mounts, different dampers/springs and swaybars, modified chassis setups, CS interior design accents in red, CSL carbon fibre middle console, improved gearbox shifting times, yellow daylight running lights and track tires (Cup 2R or Cup 2) at no additional cost, CSL front mask and 302 kph top speed (12 kph more), recalibrated (track focused) power steering and so on.
According to a BMW engineer, basically all engine/gearbox/chassis related control units have a different software.

Thanks. That was my assumption too -they will make as many as they can!
I also heard from a press source that BMW expects to sell at least around 1000 M3 CS but if they can sell more, the better.

Ziggy:I like everything about the car, except the dual screen. It looks like they just slap them in there without even trying. Total lack of design sense.
I actually love it but I'm an IT nerd, I love tech. They could have integrated it a little bit better, true but it actually looks quite good in real life and it is very useful.

Enmanuel:Whoopsy:Hitler's moustache ............
That's a new one I haven't heard before lol.
That new BMW nose is just getting worse and worse.
The red highlight doesn't help at all. I'd be finding a way to wrap that asap.
The read highlight in the front mask is actually easily removable, it is applied after production finishes. It is not possible to delete it from the factory but I can remove it afterwards. I will take delivery and decide afterwards if I like it or not. Not sure yet but with a full black car, it may actually look good live (we'll see).

Whoopsy:That dual screen looks like it came straight from the i4. One way to save money building it.
Many BMW models get it, so clearly a cost saving measure but according to a source, I also heard that it has something to do with parts availability management and securement. It is easier to secure production/availability of a few same parts versus many different. Main goal is of course cost saving but the proper availability is apparently second.
RC (Germany) - Rennteam Editor Lamborghini Huracan Performante (2019), BMW Z4 M40i (2022), Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (2019 EU)
It seems that the BMW M Performance Parts are compatible for the M3 CS:
Carbon Rear Wing - 3100 EUR (incl. 19%VAT)
Carbon Rear "Winglets" (left and right) - 950 EUR each (1900 EUR total)
1080 EUR (left and right, 2 required), total of 2160 EUR.
So if you choose all three together, it would be an additional 7160 EUR (incl. 19% German VAT).

OK, I just realized that "my" M3 CS (the way I configured it) would cost almost 207k EUR in Switzerland.
What the heck is going on with car prices in Switzerland??? Is there a new tax in Switzerland or what happened? This is insane???

You get huge discounts on the cars in CH. Not sure how it is exactly at BMW, but when I once looked, you don’t pay the indicated price. Just like at Porsche. It is a stupid way to do it. They apply a « euro bonus » linked to the exchange rate.
At Porsche it is between 10 and 20 % . Don’t know why they keep presenting prices like that.
The above carbon parts are cheap. I had to replace the carbon wing on my GT4 RS, cost was 10k + 800 for each side part of the wing. Crazy !

I was half expecting to learn that the 4RS wing didn't work as a standing lunch table.

Now that's an amazing story to tell!! Especially back to Porsche
I didn't realize the wing stick out farther than your fenders and bumpers. So basically it was more like a love tap against the guardrails

Daytona video…I really don’t like the Signal Green for the CS 🤷🏻♂️
RC (Germany) - Rennteam Editor Lamborghini Huracan Performante (2019), BMW Z4 M40i (2022), Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk (2019 EU)
I am a little bit disappointed with what BMW did with the CS though:
Rear seats: They should have been optional and definitely bucket seats similar to the M5 CS. BMW claims they wanted to maintain the rear seat comfort because many M3 owners appreciate it but then, why did they remove the A/C vents and control unit from the rear? Makes no sense at all.
Sound Insulation: It seems that BMW hasn’t removed any sound insulation material from the CS. Why? Makes no sense. Whoever buys a CS doesn’t care about driving noise insulation. To make things even weirder: BMW offers optional sound insulation windows. Seriously?!
Rear lights: I get it, a different rear light design would have been too expensive but what about…darker rear lights?!
Front lights: Shadowline front lights (darker front lights) not available with the yellow “icon” lights. Why? Adaptation should have been possible in a way or another but I guess they didn’t even try.
Bucket seats: Why not use the lighter ones from the CSL? Cost difference would have been minimal. Comfort again?!
Overall, I think that BMW could have made the CS at least 50 kg lighter if they tried harder and this sucks.
With ceramic brakes, you get a total weight reduction of maybe 35 kg if you‘re lucky, not very impressive.
