That begs for soms drifting around that Christmas tree.
Haha! The Crewe assessing their first few drifting laps: with Hakka studded they have too much traction

Actually with 4.5 feet in the last 2 days, my clearing crew was late today, so Dada had to open emergency egress -- way too deep to get the TRX out

Carlos from Spain:I feel left out, can never post any snow pics from here so I will at least post photos from yesterday's snowfall in Sussex my daughter sent me at her boarding school
Wow, where did the time go? I still remember like it was yesterday that you mentioned on Flat-6 that you were stopping with riding the bike because you had become a dad...

They must be stuck in a time warp.
In the Midwest, we had close to a 0.9 meters of snow in November. So far, in December, there is now snow. One can't imagine how large a bull moose is up close. We have plenty of white tail deer in the area with the bucks exceeding 300 pounds but they are tiny compared to the moose. However, if hit by a vehicle, the damage is substantial. A couple of weeks ago, on one of the main roads, someone hit a trophy quality 8 point buck. Every airbag deployed and part of the front end of the car was on the pavement.
The speed limit on the stretch of road was reduced over a decade ago from 40 mph to 35 because of the wildlife and the woods and meadows close to the road. However, only a few of us tend to drive close to that speed with many driving well over the limit, as this driver was probably doing. Besides deer, there are wild turkey, hawks, bald eagles, and the occasional ill-mannered raccoon. The worse are the turkey, which do fly and will pop up at windshield level if startled. Hitting a 30 to 50 pound bird at head level is not something I wish to do.

"Opa"? Are you from Dutch descent Mike?
I have no children myself, but my two nieces mean the world to me. 10 and 12 now, and I love spending time with them.

Are we getting into niece appreciation territory now? Because my first niece is going to be 5 months tomorrow, and I'm very excited about being an uncle.
Carlos, I remember also when your wife was pregnant and when you got your daughter. That was a little after I joined RT. Crazy we are still around !!!!
My youngest boy is also 16, but at home with his two older brothers. I am so jealous that your's is at boarding school

16 too? we have all known each other for a long time. It was her choice actually! she wants to study medicine most likely in UK so going to this school improves her chances of getting into a good university. She comes home every month and a half though and with Skype it's not that bad being away from her, but it's our only child so it's hard, your are lucky you have three!

Born and raised in Hinterbruehl Austria 🇦🇹 to an Austrian dad and American mom. Moved to KC in 1975. German is my first language. This is an international forum lol . I have been to Holland many many times. Easy to understand the language as it is a mix of English and German as you know. I just can’t speak it well but it is similar to the household I grew up in where each sentence seemed to be a mix of which word fit best. Dad now spends winters in Andorra where he enjoys a home on the slopes with indoor pool and elevator. In the summer he lives in Spain in Soto Grande.

Looking at the first picture I was about to write the same post as you Joost...Except I remember Carlos's post on Rennteam instead (I have never been on Flat-6) announcing he was a father and he was stopping riding bikes. I also recall the black 997.1 Carrera S with -20mm sport suspension he owned at the time.

Definitely, mate! Being an uncle is the best! You can spoil them to no end and if they start misbehaving give them back to their parents :-) It is a very grateful role to fulfill. My nieces love to spend time with me, and I have little traditions with them such as baking gingernuts for "sinterklaas" (our beginning of December equivalent to Santaclaus) and putting up the Christmas tree together. I took my eldest niece wingsurfing with me in september and she loved it! I hope you will get to be as close with your niece as I am with mine

Ah yeah, of course, you mentioned before your Austrian heritage, forgot about that.

My oldest is 20, the middle one is 18 and the youngest is 16.
I observe that girls when young are so much more studious and serious then the boys. Great she has a good plan and puts the effort in it But i understand that for you and your wife it must be a bit hard to have her abroad.
For us it is the opposite. We can't wait that they get out but they have no intention, life is way too good and confortable at home We have two good universities that open the doors to anything within a 10 min walk from the house. Why would they want to go somewhere where they have to fill up the fridge and cook by themselves My first one might do his next and last Business and economic science bachelor year in the UK ( Erasmus programme)
