Thanks mate. Yep we drive on the wrong side over here which is a little annoying when one crosses over to the continent…..

    Re: 992 GT3

Yes but most people have good cheer if you put on your hazard lights and give them a wave, particularly in 911s. Less so in the Cayenne turbo. And definitely not back in the day with the RS4. That was just impatient nasty French people in french cars….. constantly honking

    Re: 992 GT3

Btw it also helps of you have the better looking half doing „left window duties“ . And contrary to urban legend, they do not time you between peage stations in France. Actually, unless you are a complete moron and not paying attention you can consistently drive around 200kmh on the French autoroutes without a problem. Sometimes for short stretches (at the expense of fuel economy) way faster. Prefer it to the more congested autobahn TBH.

Pray tell how you spot the radar as you fly past at 200kph ?

Many years ago I would have agreed re the autoroutes but now days they are pretty aggressive with their radar "controlle", speeding during the lunch hours are the safest bet to avoid the Gendarmes indecision

Roads are very open. You can see a game or two klicks ahead

    Re: 992 GT3

The key is be the 2nd fastest car on the highway, someone else can be the carrot. smiley

But I mean most of the time German highways are quite enjoyable, you get the odd Dutch yellow plate car hogging the left lane but that's about it. Germans are super nice and super discipline on the highway, very very predictable.

Italians are also ver predictable, they mostly keep to their lane except when in corners, they do proper apexes across 2 lanes.

The Swiss plate people are also quite crazy, almost like they just got out of prison. Actually they are when they left Switzerland.

The French plates are a bit unpredictable, but mostly can be trusted.

UK plates are mostly easy to spot, most of the time they hog the right side of the lane. Pretty much on the line.

Best was to follow those Ukrainian plates, those are the crazies. Not sure if they are still that numerous now. They just keep flying, best ever carrots.

    Re: 992 GT3

    Thanks guys.

Tech 9 near Liverpool are my go to shop. A few bits need sorting, I fitted some 18 way sofas and had the "GT3" logo put in them, the leather on the front seats is a bit puckered which doesn't look great and have actually been discussing it with my shop today, the trimmer, who actually does a lot of UK Techart trimming so is very good, assures us that it was the extreme cold when they did the job which has caused this and that it will resolve in time when the leather has some heat cycles....

BTW, 18 ways are soooo much nicer to use daily than the buckets !!

    Re: 992 GT3

One interesting thing is that my shop insisted in putting backing steel plates behind the lower anchorage points under the car to spread loads, they said the metal is too thin there without !,  whereas the German conversion kit TUV approved supplier just uses big Riv nuts.

    Re: 992 GT3

Thanks guys, I've had a bit of a journey with this, the car came with the PORSCHE decal as in the pic below, I asked the PPF guys to add a black shark protection film and they did but they used a gloss black which didn't look great.

Fortunately they weren't happy with the PPF job they did as the template came from a 3M dealer in eastern Europe so they asked me if they could have the car again for a week so they could produce a new better template, apparently a 3M guy came over from the US to help, anyway I got them to re-do the shark fin in matt black (like factory) and added the "GT3" door bottom decals......very happy with the look now kiss
