I am not one of the Porsche favoured few here in the UK, I keep my cars too long and sacrilegiously put lots of miles on them rather than give them back after a few months to sell at a premium,
I have fancied a 992 GT3 since they were announced and have been following the market all year, I have been putting offers in for the last few months and finally managed to secure a year old one in a manual spec which I was reasonably happy with for an approx 30% premium on list which my man maths could live with for a 1 owner sub 1000 mile car.
Some crappy pics

Thanks gents
Those brakes are actually PCCB, the original owner went for the black calipers, I have always preferred yellow but I will cope.
The plan is to fit rear seats so I will actually get some use out of it since I seem to be carting my brood around a lot now days

If you can work out the rear seats bit, please let me know.

Ive got most of the kit, an interior from a Carrera S including 18 way seats, the kit from Elfermotors in De for installing the rears is en route. We need to do a test fit of the front seats as unsure if the electrics for the Buckets will plug straight in then need to get all the seats overstitched in shark blue together with the "GT3" logo embroidered....... could take a while

Well since my RS6 is still dead at the dealership the GT3 has been drafted into daily driver duties. Turns out it's a pretty practical car. Have done a couple airport runs and been to the grocery twice. Always surprises me how much you can fit in the frunk. Ignore the food choices, just back from vacation and was craving crappy American food...
The ride isn't bad at all on fairly bumpy roads, I mean it's a sports car so not buttery smooth but also not horribly jarring like some of the initial reviews made it sound. Driving to work has been fine other than all the attention it gets. With front lift speed bumps are no problem, but there are some steep entrances I've had to avoid due to scraping all the under body aero. Noticed the diffuser is actually scrapped up some, probably due to being loaded on the tow truck before I left on vacation. Overall not a bad daily driver, and bonus points for getting better gas mileage than the RS6

Moser:I can't believe you can still order GT3's from the dealers, the production numbers on these cars will crazy high compared to the previous models....
The fact that you can still order the car is totally normal for GT3 production - fits the historical production schedule . Been this way since 996 days

crayphile:Congratulations. Great that the car is now in good hands.
Cray, I was thinking, you are probably the man to discuss this with.
Bearing in mind my last modern 911 was a new 991.2 Turbo S which I quickly ditched because in felt like a big Audi, I have never driven a 991 GT3 but driving this lovely 992 GT3 I am struck with the way it drives and it immediately strikes me that it is similar in many ways to a Mclaren LT. The way the GT3 resonates at idle seems to me to be at the identical frequency which Mclaren engineer into their LT range, the general mechanical noises and vibrations feel so similar then of course the fantastic steering of the new GT3 whilst not quite there is very Mclarenesque.
The power delivery is obviously not like a Mclaren in terms of the NA power curve but it certainly feels out of the LT playbook.
I am incredibly pleased about this as I love Mclaren LTs so here I will (hopefully) have a 4 seat LT to drive which will not be bonging error messages at me constantly and hopefully not throwing its residuals off a cliff
What do you think, am I on to something ?
