    Re: Orange

    Oppps i have another One

    Re: Orange

I like the color and the style. Being made by Ruf is a garantee of good quality and seriousness!

    Re: Orange

That front will ground easy on speed humps etc etc..

    Re: Orange

If you live where car culture is a big deal the color is fine. If you live in more subdued regions, it would be a joke for people when you drive by. Good color on the race track where everything is bright and glitzy (like retail auto store product packaging) for advertizing purposes. Where I lurk an orange Ford Focus would be a serious attention grabber.

    Re: Orange

the 2nd picture looks so photoshoppped to me but like MMD said, it would look cool on a racetrack, but off it... well that's another story!

    Re: Orange

Even though widths are different it's weird that the Ruf wheels don't match. Spokes are rounded differently, holes seem to be smaller.

    Re: Orange

    love it..

    Re: Orange

The design seems to flow. One of the better kits IMO.

    Maybe, maybe not:

    Re: Orange

haha oh well, guess mike cleared that up for me

    Re: Orange

much more creative than the oh so boring design improvements for 997C4S

I agree it looks like it came from A 1994 VW Jetta..
    Dont like the steering wheel
    Dont like the orange inserts
Whats up with the seat-covers aswell??

    Re: Orange

Sorry - by the way the exterior looks quite nice..
i esp like those intakes above the rear wheelarches.

    Re: Orange

WTF did they do with those seats
Looks like a small burberry print

I don't like the interior either, actually I don't really like the Ruf RT12 at all. The only thing that stands out are the intakes just like BCE997J said.
Hopefully there next project will be a lot better

Yeah I know! But you figure Ruf is trying to get us excited about the possibilities.

MY possibilities? They'd be like the last sets of designer drawings that got rejected and thrown away in the Porsche Design Department because some marketing/executive types got their way.

    Re: Orange

Those seats are black and white houndstooth. This was a popular option on porsches from the 60's and early 70's (just like the tartan inserts were). I think it's great that a show car can look back at the good old days for some design influences. I don't kow if I would go for houndstooth myself, but it's cool that some people still remember it...

    Re: Orange

As a designer and artist I can appreciate the look of those seats in the interior, it fits very well if you consider the artistic movement and feel they are trying to replicate. RUF has been known to do things like this, and I definitely think it is very unique.

That said I definitely understand why so many people don't like, and I would certainly never daily drive a car that had such a "high contrast" interior.

    Re: Orange

@mithras: thanks for the brief recap of the finishings of the past, i never knew that! but i think some things are better left forgotten lol

Hmmm, anytime now Ruf should be showing a car with velvet seats in the old "Pasha" checker pattern!

Yep, two key design elements on that front end which were "borrowed" from the 996 GT2 were very creative!

    Re: Orange

The rear wing is very similar to the upcoming 997TT though.

Let's say I have a good sixth sense

    Re: Orange

man, the 997 design is dying for a spoiler like that,...my first drawing of the 997 turbo had a spoiler like this, that was before Ruf came with it...

    Re: Orange

do your good sixth sense know anything about the weight ???

Not a bad looking rear spoiler. Ron, do you know if it wraps around like that all the way over the rear lights?

    Re: Orange

that rear wing looks really great! love it . i am still trying to understand what made them make such upholstery ,remind me of the 1983 audi quattro...
