Going on track. Important things to remember?

I'm taking my beloved 986 to a track in the south of Sweden (our neighbouring brotherland) called Knutstorp in the beginning of June, and since I've never driven more than a few "light" rounds on a track before - and that wasn't in a P - I'm not sure what to expect.
The instructor turned out to be an authorized international P-instructor which is pretty cool since this is not a P-event.

I asked him to tailormake a program for me - one that makes me enjoy my Boxey more without pushing it too far.
I'm aware of brake- and tirewear and that tires whould have higher pressure (how much) on the track - and I'm NOT going for broke on the cirquit.
I'm too much of a sissy...I mean I'm so much man I don't have to prove myself...and I'd probably kill myself (or my insurance company would) if I totalled the car. So I simply wanna get to know my Boxey better.

Any reminders, suggestions, do's and dont's?

And yes, I will take some pictures for whoever might be interested in watching an elderly man in a vintage car.

1. Ask the EU to provide copies in 9 languages of all of their documents, that way, you will have crash barriers at the track.

2. You will need a helmet!

3. Also check your power steering fluid, Boxsters are prone to cooking that on lap days.

4. As for tailoring the course of instructions, ask for
instructions for high speed boot leg J turns, left foot &
trail braking and handbrake turns beside the usual stuff.

Too much pressure (or too little) in the tires is a bad thing at the track. The heat incurred will greatly increase the pressure. For street tires, you want to have about 2.75 Bar at the most when the tires are HOT, so you should begin with about 2.2 Bar before you hit the track. The pressure will increase about .7 Bar with each 5C increase in tire temperature. Tires can easily increase from ambient temerature to 65C after hard running on the track (I had to do a little converting from psi and Farenheit...). Bring a pressure gauge and check after every session while the tires are freshly hot.

I've done only one track day so far, in the UK. My preparations were limited to ensuring the tires were at the factory recommended standard settings when I started out in the morning as well as checking the oil. I would have checked the coolant level too if I could only figure out how to actually see the fill status through the thick plastic in the 987.

For clothing I used my normal driving shoes (soft, with no edge) and my usual leather gloves.

The organizers required a helmet (borrowed one onsite), a drivers license and covered arms/legs before letting anyone onto the track.

I drove with an instructor sitting next to me and it was great fun, though I was busy finding the right line and speed and thus did not try anything sophisticated like heel/toe'ing. If you don't want to wear out the parts too much you can just keep an eye on the tires etc. and stop anytime you feel you've reached a limit of what you'd accept.

Dr. Phil,
The Danish Porsche Club also have an event at the former formula 1 race track Anderstorp here in Sweden June 11th. Would welcome you to a nice (fast) track with many cars. We Swedes have also been invited. By the way already tomorrow Sunday 29th is a track day at Knutstorp with the Swedish Porsche Club 100+ cars i'm told.

I got a written "ok" from mine. They draw a line between "instructional driving" and "racing". I'mk not going racing, but driving with an instructor on a track that is approved for this purpose.

I haven't checked the Danish or Swedish P-clubs calendar at all, except Ive seen that the Swedish P-club has some major P-convoy-concourse-show-thingy in Göteborg sometime next year, I think.
