First the panamera, now this?!?! when other manufacturers try get into the groove of the mainstream, it ticks me off. Porsche is already the most profitable car make out of any other, now the want expand in the these funny market segments. the SUV was an exception, it was a new market when the cayenne came out.. if this continues, in a few decades time, a porsche will be about as exclusive as a BMW...

First off, I'm seriously confused w/ this fourth model line buisness, isn't that the Caymans position? Also, W8MM and I eluded to this in another thread(title has escaped me). I wouldn't be suprised if they chopped the current truck based chassis for the current Cayenne and made something more wagon like in turn, the SUV market is suuuucking it up right now, literally.

When you ignore the marketing hype the Cayman is really part of the Boxster family just as 911 Convertible and Coupe belong together. The 4th model line was rumored to be a CLS type car with 4 doors seating 4-5 people. Now word on the street is that it will seat up to 7 people, more than the current Cayenne.
I think Porsche should finally stop ignoring even larger families and start to offer a bus seating up to 50 people, sporting a hybrid solution with combined power output of 1,000 HP or more. Maybe Farina can make a design suggestion?

If Porsche continues to announce a bigger car every few years than this is the 6th or 7th model.
I understand the idea to give people with children the option of a car that seats 4 people in comfort but the emphasis of a Porsche should be on driving pleasure, superb handling, and adequate top speed and acceleration. In my opinion the Cayenne base model is much less 'Porsche' than the old Audi RS2 was. It's not about the badge and I hope this station wagen is a step back to 911 or Boxster virtues rather than Colani trucks.
