I kinda like the look of NATURAL COW. Black and white in all different patterns. Hey all you farmers out there, how long would the cow hair stay on the hyde with me riding it every day?
    I have a vision.
Porsche could offer a Shampoo and Rinse and a set of combs and brushes to care for your hairy hyde. I like it!

Even though I'm from Texas, I don't know very much about bovines. However, I believe the cows in that photo are Holsteins, named after the region in northern Germany. Maybe your association of Porsche and these cows isn't all that far off...

Paying $80+ grand for a car with a vinyl and plastic interior, that could be called the same expletive that was used earlier. Part of the Porsche lure is craftsmanship and personalization. Otherwise, we should all drive cheap looking and cheaply assembled no-option Corvettes that go like hell. If you're so damn horny about function over form, buy a Lotus Elise and bounce down the highway all smug in how "serious" you are about performance. Otherwise, all the "I don't need a stereo, or leather, or air conditioning..." mumbo-jumbo to be nothing more than chest-puffing blather by wanna-be race car drivers. Funny, when I see an article or interviews showing F1 or GT drivers with their daily-driver street cars, they get theirs LOADED TO THE HILT!!!. The fellow who doesn't like all the stitching, while I don't agree, I can certainly respect. But "stupid"? Maybe to those a little too caught up in romanticism...

the standard interior is not a GM interior, it feels very nice, yes the full leather is pretty cool but its pretty pricey, so IMO it isnt really "stupid" its only stupid, to me, if someone chooses the full leather over the Adaptive sport seats or sport chrono (although both of those are kinda rip offs, but more important IMO)

Re: Oh leather, where are thou???

but i suppose im getting off topic, what i meant to say is that I wouldnt wait a few more months just for the full leather because the standard interior is already quite nice, soooooooooo much better than the 996!!!

    ok!

Re: Oh leather, where are thou???

i still don't understand why people complain about the cost of options when buying a "porsche", i mean that's part of the package isn't it? the full leather option here costs a little over $5000 here but i took it anyway. so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, go buy a mercedes or BMW

Re: Oh leather, where are thou???

Must say that 997S w/full leather is a well-executed interior...IMO, better than any interior out there w/poss exception of a well-spec'd 996TTS/430 (which cost 1.5-2X 997S). Would definitely never consider a $100K car w/a plastic interior. Those F dudes have addicted me to concept of lots of interior leather and deviating stitching. Must admit that I just had my second 996TTS built this week w/more than its fair share of leather/stitching/colored belts/colored wheels options.....sorry if that helped to screw up 997S

Re: Oh leather, where are thou???

Full leather is the way to go. I'm very pleased with the interior in my 997S. If/when I get the 997 turbo, I'm getting full leather also.

    I totally agree.
I plan to order my 997s Cab with almost all, if not all, of the leather options.
If cared for properly, leather looks even better over time.
    IMO: Plastic dash, doors, etc.

I think it is the psychological barrier of $100K total inc taxes here in the US.

Sure, I suppose I can blow more $$ on options but, enough is enough, gotta draw the line; cars are about personal indulgences and losing money. $100K is my arbitrary limit.
