Forget the common fog lights, the roof needs some helium let out of it.

Thanks Atlantis. I wonder what the standard cayman will look like, single exhaust and two grill bumper? Can't believe the Pounds35k though. The boxster and s have a Pounds6kish difference, so probably Pounds37kish is more likely. If only we knew how long it would take for the second model is to be launched, bearing in mind it was present at the US customer clinics.

the foglights really emphasize the alligator theme...
personally, i liked some of the spyshot/early photoshops better.
i am underwhelmed by the real thing, it isnt really that sexy, the roofline seems awkward. the hatch back ruins the line a bit as well. i would have bought one in a heartbeat if you could see the engine instead.
(still on the list to get one)
i LOVE cars, can't get enough of them. each new one is like a new relationship.

So it's been confirmed a UK price of Pounds44k...overpriced, overweight, underpowered and waste of time as RC commented before.
I don't care what excuses Porsche come up with but there's simply no excuse to charge a premium over the Boxster S, true the power is up by 15bhp but simply not enough. By the time you spec the thing up, you're edging close to Pounds50k, next year you can bag yourself a 996 TT for that which is what I'll be planning to do or how about a mk1 GT3 for under Pounds50k? I know what I would have...and it's definately not a Cayman.

It's sad but I think you're righ Lavaman.
If one doesn't really care about being the first owner of a car, there is a lot to get on the second hand market for a well specced Cayman S. Bc let's not fool ourselves here, by the time you've added Full leather, Auto aircon, Bose, PCCB, etc, this car goes beyong Pounds55k.
You can get a great 996 for that price.

Although I agree it seems too expensive compared to a Boxster S - not everyone wants to spec it up to 55k - i think the average on a Boxster S takes it from 38 base to 43, and also not everyone wants a 2nd hand 996. People will still buy this, if it's not for you then that's ok, but it wil be for others.

But who knows for a fact that the Cayman is faster than the 997 around Nurburgring?
This seems to be a classic case of "spin" - if you say it enough times people will believe it.
