    Need your Commnets

I am thinking of getting 997CS so I decided to go with the Black Matelic and the Interior is Cocoa brown! So do you think it is going to look nice? On the other hand, if there is any other Color would go with it what will you suggest. Your feed back is highly appreciated.....

Although I have never seen that combo, I think it will be quite nice, but not the best.
You cannot judge for someone else on colour tastes really.
If you really like it, go for it.
Have you considered Slate grey? It's also very nice, I mention it bc I have done a lot of research on the colour lately (I'm getting it).
It's a very dark grey, not quite black (That would be Atlas grey) but I have a feeling it would look nicer with Cocoa interior. But again not sure.
Maybe some people own or have seen the Slate/cocoa combo.
    Good luck with you decision.
One other thing is that the 997 has a lot of Alu or Alu look pieces in its cockpit and I'm not sure it looks very nice brown tints. But that's purely personal.

    Re: Need your Commnets

Get Sand Beige, it's perfect for the desert. You MUST see the Cocoa in person because all the photos of it are said to be bad. Everybody says it just doesn't look good in the photos. makes me wonder.

    Re: Need your Commnets

Interesting - I agree. I have yet to see photos which truly do cocoa justice. I saw it in real life at a dealer not so long ago - it looked really classy. It's a kind of v v dark brown but in the photos, it can look either too light or almost black because of poor lighting when taking the photos or through over/under-exposure. I also think that if people use mobile phone cameras, then that can seriously impact the representation of such a subtle colour.

The big question is: is it really worth the extra cash ? Pounds2084 in the UK!!

Ahlan Wa Sahlan and Marhaba, Hussain AbdulGhani.

Black with cocoa ? At the end of the day, it's your choice. Personally, I would never mix black and brown. Do you wear black shoes with a dark brown suit? I didn't think so!

If you are going for cocoa interior, my honest opinion is that arctic silver, GT silver, seal grey and slate grey look great but not black, basalt black or atlas grey.

With black or any derivative of black, you either need a black interior or a real contrast like sand beige, terracotta or even natural brown which is more of a 'tan' colour than brown. I've never been a big fan of stone grey, blue, green or natural grey.

You can try using the colour configurator on the Porsche website but do be warned - it only gives a very basic idea of what the colours look like. They will look quite different in real life.

The best thing you can do is to go to your dealer who should either have some cars in stock in the colour you like or at least will have some small paint and leather samples to give you an idea what the colours look like. You can also look through the pages of this board at the photos of other owners.

    Hope that helps!

Yes excellent point. Like..., maybe..., Speed Yellow and Terra Cotta, probably other combos too. You're taking a chance, without seeing it in person first.

    Ditto.............

    Re: Need your Commnets

I have black with sand beige, this is not popular in the UK where almost all interiors are black, but I like the contrast so much I am very tempted to order it again.
Could not fancy the cocoa myself but hey its your car, you do what you really want
That way the combination will be perfect for the only person who matters

The car I tested the adaptive sport seats and the thicker sport steering wheel had that color combination. I liked it. Cocoa is different from the other colors in having all shades of brown, while other colors like black, stone grey, sea blue, ... are just unicolored. However, that is just my subjective sight, you should see your desired color combination in person before you make your choice.

    Re: Need your Commnets

Back in 1983 I bought a black 318i with brown interior..I liked the combo but it was not ideal..It was not a great match..I had wanted a sand or creme interior and still think either of those would have been the better choice.

    Re: Need your Commnets

Black on black is a classic. You could also choose coloured stitching (red stitching or yellow stitching on PCCB equipped cars). I think cocoa looks nice with black met., I saw it once but I don't know if I took pictures, I try to look for them.

You also have to be aware that black is a very difficult colour in hot environments with lots of sand/dust.
Not only the temperature is going to be a lot higher in your car, the black paint somehow attracts every single dust particle.

I once saw a picture of a white 997 Carrera S with dark tinted rear and side windows. It looked absolutely stunning, I think this car was from Oman.

Good luck with your decision and welcome to the 997 world.

    Re: Need your Commnets

I tested a car like that : basalt (metallic) black with cocoa leather inside.
I didn't like it at all.Cocoa isn't a great color, for me. But I can't explain why ... Maybe it would be better with an exterior light colour like GT grey
With a metallic black, much better black or terracotta or sand beige interior. But I can't explain why...
You know, this kind of question is so subjective, that I'm afraid all the responses here won't help you, and even make it more confused
The best solution is to see by yourself in reality different combos and choose what seems the more desirable FOR YOU

    Re: Need your Commnets

I like cocoa. I have that colour in my 997S. IMO it looks very nice and has some advantages against other colours:
    - it gives the interior a classy look
    - not as "boring" (don't meant to be rude) as black
    - not as stain-sensitive as light colours as sand for example (I also prefer dark interior colours)
    - nearly as resistant against dirt as black
    - dark brown looks somehow cozy in the interior

Of course there are others, who prefer black or say that a dark brown interior is just a little bit too classy for a 911.
Truth is, you have to see cocoa in real, photos don't do that colour justice. Have a look at your dealer and decide afterwards.

About the black metallic I don't know. I combined cocoa with seal grey, which looks perfect IMHO, especially as seal grey has a hint of brown in it. Again, you should check at your dealer first.

    Re: Need your Commnets

I can envision the Cocoa interior being very nice, and as Rossi said "cozy", with the right exterior color, but not in a black, or black metallic car. They don't compliment each other whatsoever, IMHO. If you're bent on Cocoa, work your way through all the other color options on the pallet. I think the alternative suggestions you've received here are all good directions to go, as opposed to black. I would do a silver with Cocoa myself, or Atlas Gray.

As for, "will it look nice??" That's purely up to your taste. I don't think so, but you've just got to close your eyes, visualize a 997, and visualize the colors. Does it look nice in your head??? Then go for it!! When I ordered my black with Terracotta, I winged it just like that, and it turned out terrific.
