    Cayman Pictures and Data Online!

    The Cayman S has 18'' wheels and PSM as standard
    PASM and Tiptronic S are available as options
    Variocam Plus comes with the engine, this seems to indicate the probability that the Cayman S engine is based on the 996 M96 engine.

    Wow! Looks great. Is that rear lip spoiler fixed or does it extend? Also, new wheel design looks good. I like small spokes that show off the calipers underneath. Any interior pics yet RC?

    No interior pics yet but there isn't much difference to the Boxster S.
    Another thing I forgot to mention: the rear hatch with the window can be opened, similar to the 996 Targa.

    I must say it needs to grow on me... I will take a lot of looks at these pics, and then slowely grow an opinion First impression is that it looks good, with no real surprises. I had expected a bit more of the back, but all in all it does not look very bad.

    -RC, I translated this on a translation website from the thread about the caymen you posted in germen in the news section. What does the quotation above mean. 50,300??
    Also, it said the chassis is aluminum. Is that new or am I just ignorant

    The back I realy realy like very nice indeed, the bumper is great.

    The fron with the round fogs I'm not so sure about.

    The wheels, nice v nice. Good to see we have some new designs instead of using the same 997 987 ones we have already seen.

    Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh as that is always the major test!

    Similar to most everyone here, I like it more everytime I look at the pictures again. I see the "wart" everyone loves so much (even though, I must admit that I am a fan of the "wart"). I like the line of the car very much, but, am glad I ordered the boxster S, like the topless option!

    This is just a potential misunderstanding arising from translation from German to English. The German word "Fahrwerk" can mean the same as the English expressions "chassis" or "suspension", depending on context.
    In this instance it should have been translated as "suspension", because it refers to the aluminum alloy suspension control arms.

    Thirty years after it ceased production Triumph have replaced the GT6 Mk3 with the Mk4. In an attempt to boost sales, the new model is marketed as the Porsche Cayman, reflecting the joint venture between the two companies.

    The only thing I don't like from the pics are the rims. Besides that I think they have hit a home run.

    The chassis apparently is aluminum, not just the suspension.

    Also this says the base price is 50,300 euros??? Please someone explain this. So what will the base price be in the US.

    I'd say that in the US, the Cayman S should cost around 8000 USD more than the Boxster S. This is just an assumption, not a fact. It may be a little bit more or a little bit less.

    The more I look at the back the more I find it absolutly amazing!!! Strong, powerfull, sporty and elegant. It might clash a bit with the front.......

    My goodness ..

    My goodness, the front is ugly, especially the fog lights.
    My goodness, the back is ugly too.
    I can't say I like the side view either.
    Have they made it deliberately less attractive than the 997 and Boxster I ask myself?
    Will it grow on me?
    Maybe. Then ugliness has not stopped warts growing on me.
