    In Dash CD player

    Just picked up my S Cab this morning and everything was going perfect until I put the CD I brought with me into the in dash CD player. The CD was a burned copy (not the original disk) and I inserted it and the player will not recognize that there is a CD in it and on top of that the CD won't eject. Anyone had this happen to them or have any ideas on how to get it out?

    I used a burnt CD today and no porblems, it was even a rewritable CD whcih are even more difficult. Try a different brand of CD's (TDK, Verbatin, etc) and a low burning speed and try again

    I think you just have a glitch on your CD player, mine works fine with re-writables too!

    Have you ejected the CD out yet Woody ??.

    If not get the dealer to sort it under the warranty..

    CD is still stuck in the dash. Funny thing was I put the disk in while the salesman was watching and he, nor anyone else at the dealership, could figure it out. I'll play around with it today and see what happens, but like most here who have received their cars have stated, the best music of all is the syphony coming from the engine. I agree.

    Yes Woody , when you play around dont get all frustrated and make the prob worse..

    At the end of your try and fix , if still no good take it back for them to sort out , thats what the warranty for.

    Not quite. Yes, you should get the technicians at your local dealership to remove the disk for you but there's no way you could argue that the PCM somehow failed the 'fitness for purpose' test in the 1982 UK Sale of Goods Act or that somehow the PCM was not of 'merchantable quality'.

    Just let them replace the unit maybe you'll get a new mp3 capable one!

    mine works fine with CERTAIN writable brands!

    Try to use a different brand ofre writable discs


    Did you manage to eject it?

    The CD won't eject period so the dealer is actually going to come to my house, pick up the car and leave me a Cayenne to abuse for a day. Thought it was great customer follow up/service. I just hope they bring me a Turbo

    Don't think the 1982 UK Sale of Goods Act would help much in Florida!

    Now the 1772 UK Sale of Goods Act might be a different matter.

    Oh nooooh! Florida was still Spanish then!

    Diagnosis: They are extracting the cd player in the morning and replacing it with a new one, but the interesting thing is that the service dept. is not allowed to touch the defective unit. It has to be shipped to Atlanta where it will be properly dismantled and they are the ones who will eventually send me the Dam* CD back that is in there. Sound crazy? Does to me, but the worst part about the whole thing is that I have a V6 Cayenne to drive. Sorry to say it, but the V6 sucks. I'll push for the Turbo if there is a next time.
