Speed camera vans
"Today on the motorway there were a two speed camera vans - both with laser cameras and a guy behind.
I was keeping up with the traffic and in the left lane both times when I seen the vans at about 900m and slowed by the time i was 500m away. I wasn't going too fast - not much more than anything else and slowed quite quickly...
So the question - how do these cameras work - one was a safety van and the other a police van. The saftey van looked like it had a standard laser gun but the police van had a fancy thing with a long lens
Has anyone been caught by one of these before or passed one without incident while going slightly over the limit. I wasn't going any faster than 86 before I noticed them (on my gps speedo)."

but let's hope they don't get any ideas!
Steve - your "anonymous friend" will shortly find out whether the gun was working or not - police guidelines are speed limit +10% + 2mph. So if "he" or "she" was above 79mph... 
... they make laser guns and other traffic enforcement systems.
