    bi-xenon retrofit kit

    On the 987S, does the leveling feature of the OEM xenons really make that much difference in producing good visibility? I'm considering buying a 987S without xenons and doing the upgrade later with a Porsche or aftermarket kit.

    I guess if you have PASM, then it'll make less of a impact, as that reduces the squat/dive on accelleration/braking. But I'd recommend just getting the Porsche ones. It's not just the lights, it's the washer system, and self leveling. I doubt you'd get an aftermarket system that's as well integrated with the car.

    Anyone without Bi-Xenons... do you get a little button on the bottom of the wiper stalk for explicitly spraying the lights?

    The self-levelling feature is more of a legal requirement intended to reduce the risk of blinding drivers approaching in the other direction than to improve lighting of the road for the driver.

    You only get the headlight wash with the bi-xenons.

    I WAS TOLD WHEN RETROFITTING BI XENONS THE ADJUSTMENT AND WASHING SYS IS NOT DOABLE


    Moreover, in some countries it is not allowed to have bi xenons without self adjustment

    Sorry, it was a bit of a stupid thing to say really. I was wondering if you got the button on the stalk, but just not connected up to anything. I guess that you don't even get the button, so that would be another reason for the extra cost of the Bi-Xenons.

    I'd recommend it be done by the factory if you want it done.

    wouldn't it be sooo much easier and maybe cheaper to just order the bi-xenon lights along with the car?

    It would be easier and cheaper, but it will take several months for a specially ordered car to arrive. If the conversion kit were reasonably priced it might be worth it in order to have the car in the summer months. However, I've learned that there is no Porsche retrofit kit available for the 987S as of yet, so...I've specially ordered the car.

    Order your car and get it as a 2006 model with everything you want form the factory. NOTHING will have the same warranty as factory installed equipment AND a botch job could end up voiding factory warranty.

    So how does retrofitting Bi-xenon lights enable your 2006 PCM to play MP3'S? Am I missing something here?

    But only if you wind the windows down and you have both of the stirrups out.

    Yeah. Needs to be on the 'bounce, bounce, jiggle, bounce' setting... is it not turned on?

    Maybe that's why you're not having much luck with V B-H!
