    Considering 997S, is there a power package available in 06?

    I've just recently become interested in the 997S, but I'm having some difficulty ascertaining the credibility of the rumors circulating about the power package. I've read a tremendous amount, and searched etc, but any help you could provide answering this questions would be very much appreciated:

    Will there be a package available that increases the power output from the 997S? Are there any approximations of its efficacy, cost, or date of availability available?

    I've never had a Porsche before, but I think the time has come. Any help you can provide me in my quest for the car best suited to me is much appreciated.

    381 bhp baby, PSE included, Cost: 1 Arm and 1 Leg. Available as a factory option on all '06 models and retrofitable. Hopefully, some of Rennteam's more informed members will provide some more info.

    Heh, has anyone actually been able to confirm this? Has anyone "officially" heard from Porsche that it will have 381bhp and that the PSE will be included?

    yes there will be a X51 power package. No date yet. As of two weeks ago, according to my reputable dealer, they are still working on getting emissions and noise approval before they can relase it.

    Don't waste your money on a power kit. Just add a K&N filter, cut holes in your airbox lid, hack-off your exhaust tips and replace with coffee cans, buy a case of 104+ Octane Booster, and put stickers all over your windows. Presto-Bingo-Kazaam!!! You'll have 50-60 horsepower, AT LEAST!!!!

    Bad time management, they could have approved both power output at the same time no???

    He just got back from some type of meeting with Porsche in Atlanta. That's where he heard about the X51 situation. I'm pretty sure he would have told me when it was coming out if he knew since there's still a little time for me to change my order too (not that I'm THAT hot on ordering it). More cliff hanging which is typical for this stage of P-car acquistion.

    Where does the 381bhp figure come from? A product of speculation or is that also confirmed by those trustworthy Porsche dealers out there?
