    993 front hood style

    What does everyone think of this hood? I kind of think it fits the 997 style (just the hood of course).

    Yes...I think it does fit it, like the old ones. ( but only the hood. I do not like the front spoiler)

    WELL THE OPPOSITE FOR ME!!

    i king of like this aerokit....less busy than the original
    less hole in the front bumper more linear lines,for the front bumper

    but i dont like the hood sorry


    normally it looks aggresive but i think is destroys the car simplicity and peaceful lines

    I like the whole package - front spoiler, wing, side skirts and of course the hood. I was actually hoping that Porsche may include said hood in the 997tt.

    I liked it on the 993, but not here. I think both the 993 and 997 are the best balanced and cleanest 911 designs Porsche has produced. There are some differences in design theme between the two and this hood belongs with the 993 theme.

    I love that hood. I love it at the 996 too. It seems to me that it looks less good on the 997, but it still is beautiful.
    The front spoiler of the car in this pic is kinda nice too!

    I like the front bumper. I don't really like the hood or the rear spoiler, but I generally don't like rear spoilers anyway, unlessthey're on the TT.

    I like it because it refers back to the VW. The true origins of our cars here. I'm happy that the new Beetle and 997/S are on the same page of contemporary design.

    I'm sure Dr. Porsche would think the same way; he'd be very pleased. His hottest car (the 911) sharing aesthetics with his people's car. Botrh withstood the test of time!! There's no reason to ignore this visual and historical correspondence. Two great achievements and they still look similar!!!

    Why worsen the aerodynamics ? That's why Porsche finally got rid of this hood with the onset of water cooling and a genuine modern HVAC system with the 996 on.

    I wonder if it adds a touch more downforce?

    The 996 design ommitted it probably due to cost considerations. I like how it looks!

    I like the whole package, even the rear wing, which is unusual for me. Don't think I'd like the front bumper if the car was brighter coloured tho....

    I like the 993 hood. It gives the car a more aggressive look. Nevertheless, I wouldn't install it on a 997. Why would someone visually downgrade his 997 to a 993?
    However, I would have liked it if Porsche had designed a hood for the 997 that is not just plain.

    I like it, if only the front bumper was a little different, put your hand in front of the frontbumper in the first picture, you will see what I mean....

    The 993 hood sounded like a good idea, but I'm afraid that the execution falls quite short of the mark. It just doesn't flow with the smooth 997 lines.

    I too like the front bumper but oddly enough the hood, which I loved on the 993, makes this car look a bit older.

    I do know that they definitely need to reduce the size of the headlights in the update. Way too big IMO.

    It isn't on their website yet. I just wrote Uwe Gemballa an e-mail and he has sent me some information on the front bumper. I suppose more details will appear on his site this week.

    There are plenty of pics on their website: it's part of the avalanche series of modifications. Has some other interesting mods too such as CGT side intakes...

    Personally, I like the hood mounted vent. Otherwise, the 996/997s look too "licked". I agree that on this picture it doesn't look too great though. The other Gemballa pics do it better justice.

    I like the hood, just not on the 997 I think the 997 looks fine as it is, very simple and elegant. And if the only the hood was put on it wouldn't really blend in with the rest of the car IMO
