Lamborghini really f.cked up in the tires department. Not sure why, there are some weird theories.

I spoke to my dealer, and he tells me as long as the car is under warranty, do not replace the OEM  tires.

Otherwise, switching to Michelin or PIrelli is a must, if and when your warranty is expired.

I'm still going back and forth, whether to order one or not Smiley

    Re: Huracán EVO STO

You can always use the Trofeo R... angry indecision  Not sure Lamborghini would oppose but you should check with your dealer first.

I have the Corsa PZ4 L1 (second gen) for my Performante and I am very very happy with this tire but if you plan to seriously track race the STO, I think the Bridgestone Race is more durable. I drove this tire even on cold roads (13°C) and traction is OK, not great but it feels like a good tire but not one you can really get the most out of the STO on the track. I really don't have a clue why Lamborghini made this deal with Bridgestone, there are even rumors that Porsche didn't want Lamborghini to use Michelin as a tire supplier. angry Truth is, the Cup 2 R is amazing on the track and would probably give the STO a couple of seconds advantage on the Nordschleife.

Another truth is though: Most people won't really feel any major performance difference between the Bridgestone Race and the Trofeo R for example because you really need to drive the car at the limit to feel a difference and amateur drivers usually keep it a tad slower, especially in such an expensive car.

I'm at an age where I wouldn't drive at the limit anymore, not even to impress any pretty lady.

    Re: Huracán EVO STO

I find Michelin Pilot Sport 4S to be the best tire that suits my needs on both, AWD and RWD cars.

I've put around 13,500 km on my daily car with almost 40% of tread left before I replace them.

Cup 2 R are excellent tires that transforms the car, but it comes at a very hefty price with a short lifespan. I ended up getting a set for my 812 last week, because 4S was sold out with a waiting time of around 2 months. I can say the Cup 2 is a big improvement compared to the last ones used (Pilot Sport Cup) on 997 GT2 / 997 GT2 RS.

I'm seeing SVJ's popping up at my dealers 'for sale' every now and then with delivery miles, very odd for these cars to show up at this time

I've asked my dealer to update me on when they plan to close the order books on the STO, so maybe by then I'll make up my mind.

STO or grab an SVJ for the sake of the last V12 w/o hybrid? Aventador replacement waiting list is over 2 years at the moment heart

A Ferrari 488 Pista Piloti = 750,000 Euro, which is a lot more than an SVJ that I can pick up with under 1,000 km on the odometer  angry

If you are interested in the driving experience then it is a night and day decision in favour of the STO.

Agreed. The SVJ feels heavy and the gearbox is just annoying as hell. However...if you love looking at cars, the SVJ is like a masterpiece, I could look at this car and the details all day long. Smiley For driving, the STO is definitely the better (and more fun) choice.

The Pilot Sport 4S is definitely a very good tire, no doubt about it but I'm not so sure it is the proper tire for the Huracan.

I find the Corsa to be a very good compromise between a UHP and a semi-slick tire for the Huracan.

It is a very harsh ride though on the Corsas, not much comfort.

    Re: Huracán EVO STO

I had the standard PZeros on my Huracan Evo and when I switched to the Corsas I never looked back. Grip was better, turn in, more predictable break away and smooth transition into 4 wheel drifts.
Although the car is AWD the rears were always shot first, the rear Corsas looked quite worn already after 2000km mountain driving mainly in Sport mode. To me, it was worth it. The standard Zeros held up 8000km.

What is wrong with the new V12 hybrid? It will be very likely the last V12.

The early models will be full of surprises (I hope not) Smiley but truth be told, looking at the weight alone makes you cringe. Everything else about it is amazing, especially the clean and fresh interior that no longer shares anything out of an Audi saloon.

STO order is pending as we speak.
