    Isn't my car taking too long??? Help!

    Please help me guys. I ordered my car in February, as an April production. I checked like 3 weeks and a half ago and they said that the status was ONVSL. Now I went back to the dealer last week and they told me that the car is sitting on the port in Germany! I called today and they told me that their system was down and they coundn't check!!
    I'm getting tired of this! What should I do? When do you guys think my car will get here??

    Well my 430 was built in March and I do not take delivery until next week.

    I suspect you are looking at another 3-4 weeks.

    TC M3, relax. If you'd ordered a F430 in February, you'd probably be getting it in 2009.

    lol jeff, aye i had to put down a deposit to book a place just to ORDER the f430 over here if i hadn't put down a deposit for the spider in january (even though it wasn't even released yet!) i would be looking at a 40 month waiting period if i went to order now!!!

    Two months to chip a car to the US! That is RIDICULOUS!
    Any similar experience guys?

    I think that maybe your dealer is not being straight with you. How could it be "On Vessel" over 3 weeks ago and now be showing as at the port in Germany? Also I think that in addition to being able to check the current status on the computer at any time, they get a printout at least once a week that shows the status of all the cars inbound to them. At least, that is what happens at my dealer. Call your salesman or the sales manager and ask them to check the status of your car again and print a hard copy for faxing to you.

    I was told (but not confirmed) that Ferrari in a cost cutting move opted to use boats that were not direct to the US thus slowing down the delivery process. I find that diffcult to believe because Ferrari cannot bill the dealer until they invoice the car in the US.

    Almost.......My CS took almost 6 weeks on the water last summer to the East Coast. The longest 6 weeks of my life. I expected 4 weeks so the last 2 weeks were the worst. Every day seemed like a week.

    Waiting 4 months or so for a Porsche ain't so bad. Imagine what it's like to wait a YEAR + for a Ferrari. I was lucky in that I took delivery of my car 10 months after my initial $10k deposit to be on the "list". For some 1st time Ferrari buyers the wait can be 2-3 years.

    TC M3 - Ask your dealer to give you the most recent code. A printout of the history like Phil suggested would be even better. You should be able to tell from that whether he has been honest with you or not.

    Stradale I do not have any inside information but I doubt very much you will see a 430CS in the next 2-3 years. You may want to consider the Spider though it is a totally different car from the Stradale.
