Gas mileage

Not that it will change my driving habits or anything, but I AM cusious.

Those of you that have already received your 987 or 987S cars, what type of gas mileage are you getting and under what driving conditions?

Not really sure of exact milage, but I dont think its greta. My computer, which I havent reset for about 3 fill ups is saying 18mpg for the average

It does seem to run out pretty quick, but to be fair I have been driving a golf diesel for the last 3 years!

Now in the good old US thats not a problem, but when you have to pay almost Pounds0.90 (or $1.62 a litre!) it gets upsetting

With the weak dollar, gas prices have been steadily climbing here. Gas finally hit $2 per gallon here in Houston this spring. I know that sounds ridiculous, and I guess in all honesty it IS, but there you have it.

At the end of the day, its a toy so who cares about the mpg!!!

I use mine as a toy whenever I can so dont really care about the milage... If it was a daily driver maybe it would be different!

My first tank in my 987S I averaged about 20 mpg.
I'm with RichJ that I don't really car what it is...but it think it's a good idea to keep an eye on it as it can be one of the first indicators of a problem (tire pressures for example, but also some engine problems)

Similarly, not paranoid about fuel consumption, (if you are sell and buy a diesel something). The on board computer on my car is reading 26.4 mpg average. (English gallons).

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, clearly one doesn't care what the mielage is. I'm going to enjoy the car as often as I can and drive it however I like, mileage be damned. But I simply wanted to know what I could expect as "normal."

23.4 on mine

, although I've had the roof down 95%+ of the time so that reduces it by about 10%. More depressing is that the average speed over that time has only been 32mph - the joys of commuting....

Around 25/26 (English gallons). I commute during the week and take her out for fun drives on the weekend. A friend of mine has the right approach towards gas prices. He says: "I always fill for $20, so the price changes never affect me.. in a way.. and I don't agonize over them."

About 27/28 mpg so far, but I'm just running it in so am in 'restrained' mode.

Maybe it's more aerodynamic with the tin-top on.

I always have had a driving style which is easy on the gas... Use the car's momentum most of the time, light on throttle and brakes, keeping some good space in front... then having good fun blasts when there's the oportunity.
Plus the roads round here are twisty single carriageway a lot, so you tend to get stuck doing a nice easy 50 stuck behind a stack of traffic.

Can't wait to be able to use the top end of the rev range. Things might go out the window then.
