ANYBODY driving faster than 100-120 kph in a GT3 RS with the original tire setup must be inexperienced or insane or both.:(

It takes a lot of discipline to do that, when you see trucks and VW Lupos passing you by. I had one experience with aquaplanning in my first Porsche a 964 in the south of France in a thunderstorm. My girlfriend was driving at the time, luckily she stayed cool. We were not even driving a 100 km/h, but the road was covered with water. Very scary experience..

    Re: sad sighting...

What color is that GT3 that Stradale posted? Doesn't look like speed yellow.

    EDIT: Sorry to go OT.

    Nonsense.

GT3 and GT3RS are proper driver's car. And a proper driver knows how to drive in the wet or as Zzoba wrote knows his limitations and takes it easy.
Porsche underestimated the success of the GT3 which is why IMO the next one might be fitted with PSM as RC stated.

If the only way to drive a GT3 RS in wet conditions is "driving slower than some trucks" that means that
either you are driving a proper driver's car under it's limits or you don't have the skill.

I know hundreds of drivers who are really fast in dry tarmac but slow in the wet. Me too.

    Zoltan,

I disagree, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't have the skills.

Here's a secret, 99% of drivers are fast on the dry and slow on the wet, incl. you and me, as you wrote.
And trust me, if I was the proud owner of a GT3RS (I wish! ) I'd be the slowest guy on the motorway on the wet
You should check the archive back a few years and dig the picture of my 996 after my wet motorway crash.
And yes, it's got PSM AND 4WD! And no, I didn't drive fast nor stupidly, ask RC, it was an aquaplanning.
    [censored] happens...

PSM helps but it can also give you false confidence.

More or less we are talking about the same thing.

I said that ''PSM helps"- i dont' mean an electronic God who can save you whatever you do, no matter what your speed is, or how delicate are your lines.

I mentioned ""GT3, RS and so on'' which means everything that has a descent power, rear wheel drive and no EPS, DSC, VDC or whatever. It could be a Lotus Elise, a GT2, or a Honda S2000.

The point is the advantage having electronic stability system under all street conditions.

But i insist there are some guys who can drive really fast
in wet conditions those kind of cars.

They don't belong to 99%. They are Mr 1%. And they do exist.

After all we are talking perfect conditions. And that's what i 've said, a heavy rained autobahn isn't the ideal scenary for cars like these.

Did you drive the CORSA in the wet? No? Try it, you'll have the hell of a ride, especially if you're a skilled driver. Why? Because you wonder how the hell you can't go faster without crashing the car.

It might take a man of discipline to drive a hi-powered Porsche really slowly in bad weather and see himself getting passed by "inferior" cars, but it takes a man of ignorance to think he can outsmart the laws of nature.
Drive slow in bad weather or risk getting killed.
How much brain does it take to understand that?

Like someone said before: even Michael Schumacher crashes sometimes.
So according to my sense of logic, if youre NOT as skilled as Schumacher, wouldn't it be wise to drive a lot slower?

Peace be with the young man and his family.
I'm sure he never meant ro risk his own life - but sadly he paid the ultimate price for not being careful and sensible.

I must agree with Pirelli: Power is nothing without control.

    Re: sad sighting...

I hope we never see PSM on any future GT2/3 or RS. Learn the limits of your car and yourself under all conditions and drive accordingly.

If you want a car to "Nanny" you buy a BMW.

Ill take mine straight up thanks.

    Thoughts are with his family.
