Not sure how the sentiments are ni Germany or the rest of Europe, but in the Netherlands, 20 years ago every young guy wanted a sporty BMW. Then 10 years ago, this shifted to Audi, as BMW got a bad image (sorry if I sound racist, but too many immigrants driving around in lowered 3-series with too many exhaust pipes and fake grilles and M-badges). Now, whilst Audi is still held in high regard, they are also seen as the ultimate drugdealers cars, as there is a lot of drug gang related crime here, and these guys seem to always drive fast Audis. So, when Mercedes started creatig all these sporty looking models 5 years ago, it was only natural that the interested shifted to them a bit.

Is this the same in Germany? It might explain things a bit... Smiley
