Hi all. I just changed my wheels, and was uncomfortable about how
few turns it took to tighten my front wheel lugnuts from first contact
to fingertight all around. I'm worried there's not enough thread being
engaged by the nuts. When I remove these wheels (within the week)
I will measure the stud lengths, and I would be very grateful if someone
provided me with another measurement to compare to.
My rears are fine, as I had longer studs put on, for spacers I never
did. In the back I use open-ended lugnuts because the stud has an
inch more.
Interestingly though, when I undid the rears, one stud came out in
my hand! I then measured all the rear studs, and all the rest were in
the same deptch, so I tightened two lugnuts on the loose stud, and
was able to wrench it back to the same depth. This tells me a new
maintenence check, to measure studs to detect backing out...
