I must say positioning a car only marginally cheaper than a 911 is a gamble for Porsche. I am eagerly awaiting my Boxster S. I chose Boxster S as I wanted the next best thing to a 911, which is odd as I have never driven one and if I did I may think it was crap!!!!!
Having poduct even closer in price holds no attraction for me.
I may be getting what some people will undoubtably argue is a "poor man's Porsche" but it is the best Pounds40K you can spend on a sports car.
The Cayman will really be the stupid man's Porsche (unless it drives better than a 911) and to call it "cayman" even worse.....I'll stick with the entry-entry level.
Can I be controversial here and say maybe, just maybe, the basic 911 is a stupid man's Cayman? I am guessing the latter will be nimbler because of its size and better handling because it is mid engined and as quick because it is lighter?
Please! no offence meant to 911 owners!
