Got myself my first classic, and it's a Porsche.... with a twist, a Mercedes-Benz W124 500E. It's a car I'd always admired as a child, having grown up in several W124's it's a bit of nostalgia to me. The specific looks of the 500E with the broad arches and lower ride height have always been a source of admiration for me.

I went to check out my example with the previous owner, it appears to be a clean example with an impeccable history, taking the car for a spin sealed the deal for me. Driving a classic car when you're only used to modern cars really feels like a breath of fresh air, it feels light, comfortable and the V8 is so creamy, brilliant.

I'm collecting it next week, will drop it off at my workshop for a check-up and maintenance and a quick detail. When given the green light by the mechanic I'll take it to Tuscany and Sardinia in August.
