It is improved in terms of shortening it a bit, but the real benefit of a 7-speed is to make the gears closer together which the PDK does not do much in this case (7th gear is not useful for performance in this case).  If they packed 7 gears into the range of the Manual 6spd it could have been a big improvement with respect to gearing (they saved money by just using the regular PDK from the 718 and shortening 7th gear a bit, but top speed is still in 6th).

I really hope they address this properly with the GT4 RS (but I'm worried they'll keep using the same 7 gears with a lower Final Drive, assuming the redline is higher).
