What has been known as a "Friday car" is a possibility whatever the brand of vehicle. But IMO this must not affect future decisions or be deemed as typical of any given make of car.
The worst car I had for faults in and out of warranty was a Mercedes ML320. Does this mean Mercedes are badly made? My taxi driver friend has had a series of E class diesel and swears by the brand.
I've had 3 Porsche cars of the modern era without problems, so much that the extended warranties proved a total waste of money.
I've also had very good experiences with BMWs although many consider them as unreliable.
It;s all a matter of bad luck. Machinery can fail and you only hear of failures from owners. The happy thousands or millions won't come on the internet to praise their car.
