Great idea, but useless until the tires are changed; it might be a little late to catch the crooks. Why not engrave the inside lip of each wheel with the VIN? And then a reseller could refuse to accept the wheels if it were scratched away. A refinisher could make the wheels whole again before resale from a legitimate owner.
