Whoopsy:

Finally someone copied the great NSX design from the 90s to put a big boot behind the engine.

This new Corvette is interesting, I feel like I want one just to try it out.

Agree.  The development team considered a number of factors to entice new purchasers to Corvette, including equipping the base variant with all-season very high performance Michelin tires said to theoretically attain 1.0g lateral acceleration.  Of course, the more desirable Z51 package, except for the awkwardly looking rear wing, will run with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.  The price point is low enough that leaving this car in a parking lot unattended doesn't form any angst.

Contrasting Porsche with this new Corvette, while the competing Porsche models, are higher priced, the Porsches do offer a more bespoke approach with options and equipment.  A Porsche representative recently quipped that the company doesn't produce more than two identical 911s a year.  That said, the Corvette will offer customer VINs for the lowly sum of $5,000.  Previously, General Motors allowed new owners, for an additional fee, build their motors in an adjacent production facility.
