nobody in Italy to eat an unbeatable  " fiorentina " ???

Fiorentina.jpg

Well, I usually enjoy pasta and pizza in Italy, not necessarily meat. For meat, I go to the US. Unbeatable filet mignons (or any kind of big ass steaks, incl. Porterhouse..."fiorentina" Smiley). Also had some excellent filet mignons in Hong Kong. Smiley

Italy is basically three hours away from my home, maybe even less if I'm fast. We are often in Riva del Garda (Lake Garda) because it is close to us and we love to relax there. However, after four to five days, my wife gets "nervous", too quiet, too small, too boring. Perfect location for short (and highly relaxing) vacations though. Smiley

..........  "for meat, I go to the US" ....... excuse me,  I don't agree !!!!!

Never had a good steak at an Italian restaurant (seriously) Smiley but of course I had many bad steaks in the US as well, so there is no guarantee that in the US, all steaks are tasting good. Smiley

I suggest a foodie trip to Texas... Smiley Best meat I ever had was in Brazil though but thats a completely different story.

.......... same opinion about lakes. I go near that area only for skiing .... Dolomites

Lake Garda is near my home and I enjoy North Italy more than Austria or Switzerland, sorry. Smiley Yes, many German,  NL and A tourists there but we found a wonderful hotel, the food is great and we enjoy relaxing at the (heated!!!...doesn't happen often in Europe Smiley) outdoor pool. Only a few days though, after that we are "done" relaxing. Smiley Also very nice (small) roads for driving without annoying locals or the police. Smiley My wife speaks Italian pretty well (I only understand it, if people don't talk like a machine gun firing Smiley), so we really enjoy Lake Garda. It is safe as well, compared to the South and like I said, for a short trip by car, just wonderful.
