Bought my first turbo in 1976--black with blackwatch green and black plaid interior. Back then you could "shim the turbo waste gate" and up the HP significantly. The shim, which was a large washer, could be inserted into the exhaust wastegate thereby increasing the spring pressure and preventing the gate from opening as quickly. The boost pressure then built up more before the spring was overpowered and the exhaust valve was opened. No chip needed, or probably even imagined!

In total, I have owned thirteen wonderful Porsches since 1965...
