I call it a Corvette kit car becuase it uses many of it's parts come from a C5 Corvette. There are MANY cars that use Corvette parts and have a mid-engine design. Actually the Mosler was designed by an ex-Corvette racer that always wished GM made the car with a mid engine design. So, he created a car with 65% Corvette parts and put in the typical LS1/6 with a Porsche transaxle. This is a very common approach (Mosler, Altima, GTM) amongst many others.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I think it is GREAT and the price is a huge steep in the right direction. I like the fact that it uses cheap, easily available (US that is) Corvette parts.
