Strictly speaking of the "outside" looks, it simply looks like another 996 model in the line-up, there is as much difference between the other 996 models (996C2 - GT3 - C4S etc) than between the 996 and the 997, so I can see why its nothing to get exited about. I didn't want a departure from the characteristic 911 design but I was expecting a new design in global (in all its parts, windows, etc) not just add-ons on top of the 996 body like different front lights here, mirrors and door handles there, wider hip pannel there, etc.

However we have yet to see what really changed in the "inside" though its still based on the same chasis and engine. If there is a significant increase in handling and perfromance worthy of the term "new model " then I'm bitting the hook for a 997S and bear with the 995 retro-look, maybe the aerokit fixes it. Otherwise I'll have to wait for the 998 if I can be patient.
